Wedding Photographer hits Groom in the face with drone - EPIC FAIL

Some wedding photographers have started using small drones to get spectacular aerial pass-by shots for stunning wedding videos. Unfortunately, some take it too far!

The photographer, Davey Orgill's foray into stunt photography ended up dive-bombing the groom in the FACE!  Don't worry -- Clayton (the groom) only suffered a small cut on the cheek and side of his head.

“I did practice a lot, probably not enough,” Orgill, co-owner of Pointe Digital Photography told local TV station KSL.

He also posted a full explanation on his YouTube account.

"This was shot using a DJI phantom and a gopro camera... I had done one successful fly by and I brought it around for another pass to make sure it was smooth. I underestimated the lift time and it hit the groom on the side of the face."

"Luckily the bride and groom were able to laugh about it after and we continued the shoot. At the request of the bride and groom I put the video online. All though it sucks that this happened. I have decided to own up to what I did, instead of try to hide it from the world."

Cool responses all around.  Luckily there were no Bridezillas involved!

The final pre-wedding video below shows that the crash was well worth it.  Although you can see that he took special care to stay well away from the bride & groom in the aerial shots that he did use!
