Re: Help any information about Aruba

Bring sunglasses. It is very gritty. Sand everywhere. I wear contacts so it was not top on my list of places (I have been there 3 times). It is so very beautiful though that it is worth it!

Do not shop on the main street. The best deals are found about a street in from any main thoroughfare. They are more willing to haggle.

We first stayed at the Tamarijn Aruba Beach Resort (All Inclusive). But we ate out so much it may not be worth it. But it is your HONEYMOON and you guys will be ordering in A LOT! lol So it would be perfect.

We also stayed at Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. FUN! Beautiful. But a little pricey. They have a marriott and a HOLIDAY Inn there!

I watched hubby go kite boarding that was interesting but I am too chicken. I like horseback riding, but Lord, it was hot!

Our 3rd time there was on a Cruise.

Add the perfect finishing touch with beautiful Bridal Jewelry.

Re: Help any information about Aruba

Thanks, he already booked the airfare so now we just need a hotel. I wanted to go to an island somewhere nice and very romatic. I also wanted to do a lot water sports. Out of the three which one would you say is the most romatic?

Rosetta, my wedding is the first weekend in May. I have checked the website you gave me and some other but somehow they do not have anything for the dates I'm looking for. Do you have is that normal? I have tried three different websites.

Re: Help any information about Aruba

There may be a conference or some type of special engagement going on at that time. When I called about my (first) wedding date the resort told me they could not give me group rates because it is president's week and a lot of people vacation there at that time. So you may want to call a toll free number and tell them what is going on and they should be able to give you an answer.

I'm letting my FH pick our honeymoon and this seems to be his top pick so far. Occidental Hotel Aruba It looks beautiful and the honeymooners perks are great.

Ladies, please keep all of the honeymoon places coming. I'm looking for somewhere now. Why can't they have honeymoon packages for around $1500? lol

Lol, don't we all wish.

Askalot, have you thought about staying in the states for your honeymoon? Or maybe Mexico? They are usually cheaper than going to an island.

Re: Help any information about Aruba

There's no where in the States that we're interested in (except maybe Vegas). Also, we will probably not take our honeymoon, honeymoon until March or so. But, we're definately going somewhere after the wedding, where I don't know. If we could find someone reasonable for right after the wedding, then we'd go on our honeymoon then.

KMED, I can tell you must be getting close to somthing relly good that's when the devil tends to show his face...whatever/whoever that face might be. Keep praying, and continue with all of your hard work in getting this wedding up and running. I don't know the datils of the drama, but I will advise you, DON'T you dare cancel this wedding! All of the stress, frustration, aggravation, irritation with whatever/whoever WILL be worth it. "Get behind me Satan" are words to live by. I'll be praying for you that things get easier.

Re: Help any information about Aruba

update: Our travel agent warned us about Aruba because we want to relax on our honeymoon. Alot of places in Aruba have a lot of night life and casinos. We are going to Royal Hideaway Playacar in Riviera Maya Mexico instead. It's beautiful and we get a romantic dinner on the beach. Smile I can't wait!

Be encouraged KMED, it's good that you know God and can trust Him to work things out! The enemy will show his ugly head to discourage you, but Ms.Boston put it so well tell the devil to get behind you!!!! The enemy is against families and was from the very beginning of time, but he is a liar and you and your future hubby have the victory. I experienced many frustrating times when I was planning, but I surrendered to God and He worked it out and I am so happy!

One thing that I've learned is that God can speak you in ways you could never have imagined. We just have to learn to take the time to recognize his word. Stay encouraged!

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Aruba. Not only becuase, that is where he proposed to me - but the island is beautiful. We stayed at the Occidental Grand and the resort is one of the best on the island. When you go to Aruba (The Happy Island)you gotta go to this beautiful restaruant on the water called The Flying Fishbone. This is where he proposed to me. I love the restaruant, the food is great and you can't beat the ambiance. Check it out... www.flyingfishbone.com
