Re: bridal shower
nikky, I would ask your MOH if she was planning a shower, and let her know how much you appreciate her hard work. If she is not up to the task, have no fear, get a sister, cousin or someone else to do it. They are fun but you have too much on your plate to have to organize a shower too!

Re: bridal shower
As for the Bachelorrette, it usually happens a few days before the wedding or the day before (depends on how you hold your liquor). I say do it a few days before because you don't want bags under your eyes the next day. And just in case you've had too much fun and hugged the porcelain king all night, you won't have to worry about everyone seeing just how tired your face looks. So, I say, tell your MOH to host it a few days prior to the wedding because the night before the wedding, you'll have your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner happening.

Re: bridal shower
Teresa I agree with Diva G on the bachelorette party; I would suggest the weekend before for it-because the week of you will be super busy and definetly the night before-

Re: bridal shower
Also, there are alot of games, but one game that I loved was each lady wrote "marriage words of wisdom" on a 3X5 card and gave it to me to keep! Fortunately for me, the ladies actually gave me good words of wisdom etc...but beware because you may get someone to give you a card with something outlandish or negative on it, if so, just charge it to their head and not their heart!!
p.s. I got some GREAT gifts too even though I was not registered anywhere..and some freaky ones too! and most of the women at my shower were from my church! LOL

Re: bridal shower
1. We came up with a list of old black sitcoms and guests had to give the name of the married couple from that show. That had to give the first and last name of couple. The final question we asked when playing this game was "If there was a sitcom created after (bride name) & (groom name), what would it be called?" We gave a prize to the best answer to this and whoever got most sitcom names correct.
2. We made everyone count off by 1,2,3,4 and separated them by groups. All #1's in this corner, all #2's over there, etc. We gave each team a roll of toilet tissue and tape and then told them to select someone within the group to be the bride and the rest of their group had to design a wedding dress using the toilet paper. We set a 10 minute time limit. It was funny because we had the team explain their creation to the other teams and why thier dress is the best. Bride to be chooses best dress and that team gets a prize. This game was a good way to get rid of the centerpieces.
3. Ask questions about bride/groom/couple and most correct answers win. Be prepared with a tie breaking question on this one.
We also gave out prizes to the first to respond to invite and the first to arrive at shower. For prizes we gave out things like satin pillow cases, sleep masks, drink mixes, etc. Anything to fit the theme of what girls do for fun & beauty.

Re: bridal shower
Honestly my MOH kept acting like she didnt know what to do and kept asking me everything so I kind of took over...LOL
Anyway...we did a co ed shower. It was so much fun and turned out great. WE did an "old Skool" theme which fit us perfectly
Also....we far as the location
well we live in Atlanta and my wedding was being held in VA
So we decided to have the shower where all of my friends and family are located which is VA
That worked out best
