Help with Late Thank You Cards
Hope everyone is well. I need some help/advice from you. I got married in September of 06 and we still haven't sent out thank you cards. After the wedding, I was really exhausted, ended up quitting my job 3 months after because I was burnt out, been home recouperating (didn't do anything but rest and a little consulting work). Now I feel like I'm ready to get back to work and tackle those thank you cards. I'm feeling really bad for them being late because I'm not that type of a person and you know how Black folks can talk about each other. Can you please suggest a way of wording them, while incorporating an apology for our lateness.
Thank You

Re:Help with Late Thank You Cards
Thank you for ( insert gift) last (insert time: month, year, Spring, Winter, week). Please excuse the delay of this note. Even though it has taken some time to write, your kindness (or generosity) could not go without a written thank you. Know that your kindness and friendship is truly appreciated. Thanks again.
If, as in my own humiliating situation, your new husband promised to drop them off to the Post office and you found them moths later in the trunk of his car you won't want to open them up just to add a line of apology. SO consider adding a funny line right on the back of the envelope like, “We fired the mail fairy when we found a bag of cards hidden in the bedroom closet,” or maybe, “If you noticed this card was late, you win! Congratulations! Report to HQ for your secret assignment.” You get the idea … something that will make the recipients chuckle, but also let them know you realize you made a faux pas..
