No I didn't do it myself, I got it done for 108 dollars, and in my opinion it was worth it. It's one of the few things I decided to splurge on because I want to keep it as a keepsake. I will try to get a picture up for you. Can someone tell me how to put pictures up please?

Re: Cake Toppers

Those are nice ladies! 2bmrspotts, what size rhinestones are you using? How long has it taken you so far?

I puchased the 9ss size.
I got them from rhinestoneshop.com ( pretty inexpensive)
I ordered the wood letters from Ed. They were inexpensive as well...I think the entire monogram (3 initials) plus priority shipping was $16

Re: Cake Toppers

very nice- 2bmrspotts
I called the store yesterday after your post and the guy suggested I order the 12ss size but after looking at yours, the size might be too big Sad also was it pretty easy to do?

Re: Cake Toppers

Thanks! I got my letter from Ed also. It is not really wide because of the font I chose so I was going to order the 7ss or 9ss size.

Yes...it was easy to do. I set up everything on a TV tray while sitting in my living room..LOL

I painted the wood letters first
I put the studs on a plate
I used that "wax tip stick" that they sell on his site to pick up the stones

I found after a few minutes that it was easier to put the flue on a small area...use a toothpick or something to spread/even it out
Then wait a few seconds to start putting your stones on. This way the glue has already started to stiffen and the stones go on easier and do not slip off before drying.

I'll be working on it tonight so ill post another pic. once its completed. I think it took me about 20-30 minutes to do the 1 letter.

There are no stupid questions Wifey! Ed is a wood craftsman. He sells lots of letters used for cake toppers, cake tables (I Do), table numbers, etc. His email is craftyeddy@gmail.com.

Re: Cake Toppers

I would say 9ss or 12ss. You'll need about 3-4 gross (144 stones per gross) to cover a 5" letter depending on the font.

LOL! It'll probably take less than an hour per letter. It'll go quick once you get the hang of it like 2bmrspotts said!

What kind of Glue did you use for the crystals on the wood?

Anyone have really good ideas for the Glue?
