Tea Length or Long Dresses???

My wedding colours are burgundy/silver/white. I've found the dresses I like for my BM's however I can't decided on tea length or long dresses. The reception is brunch/lunch.

I've narrowed the choices to these ones...

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

The good thing about weddings is that you can have it all. I did BOTH for my bridesmaids... and thats because one of them (Matron of Honor)were uncomfortable in a shorter dress that showed her less than skinny ankles, so she chose a longer beautiful dress that was sexier at the top and brought the focus to her beautuful waistline and shouldersSmile
I would rather they have dresses they can wear again and again AND THEY LIKEso that they can be comfortable and look good instead of squeezing all the girls different shapes into one type of dress. Mys sister (Maid Of Honor) rocked the tea length dress though

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

I LOVE the first tea length and the second long dress. I chose tea length dresses for my wedding because I thought they were more likely to be worn again and for me tea length dresses add an element of "fun".

I am also feeling the fourth tea length dress. Who is the designer? That's just my style for my own personal collection.

I agree with Bumble you can have it all! Why not do a combination of both?

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

I like the 1st & 4th tea length and the 1st long dress. I am with the other ladies, do a combo that way you should be able to accomodate the comfort level for all. My BM dresses are all long, but they all have different styles.

Love the tea-lengths. My BMs are all wearing long dresses but get to choose styles that fit their body-type and personalities.

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

I agree with pamcrow. The 1st tea length dress and the 2nd long dress are my favorites.
Since your having a brunch/lunch reception. I would go with tea length but whatever you pick...I'm sure it'll be beautiful. Love your colors! Smile

Thanks Bumble! I just want them to be comfortable so they can have a good time. Plus if they feel good I'll get better smiles on my pics! LOL!

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

I actually like the 2nd tea length and the 1st long dress. They are all great selections however, so you can't go wrong with any of them. I agree that a tea length dress would be the better option for a brunch/lunch reception.

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

Thanx for the input ladies... very much appreciated. I was also thinking tea-length but I think I will have to confer with my BMs and let them finally choose the dresses they'll be more comfortable in.

Ps: What is the difference between Maid of Honour & Matron of Honour?

Pamcrow - sorry but I can't seem to remember who designers are as I saved the pics on my PC without web details. I'll be sure to let you know though soon as I find out

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

I've found a perfect MOH dress in a green colour and for better coordination I've decided to change my overall colours to burgundy/gold/green (for the last time I hope - FH's words -- LOL)

I think the colours will best suit my wedding dress which wont be white. Haven't decided on final choice but it will be one of these three...

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

Thanks for the info Dee. I'm definitely adding that one to my collection. It's has just they right amount of "attitude" and the price isn't bad, especially for a classic style.

Thanx MrsFloyd and welcome to the board... As mentioned I can't recall the sites I downloaded the dresses from. However I'll make it a point that I do get them and will then post it for you. Meanwhile you can try Davids Bridal website, I should think some of the dresses were from there.

Wow DeeLove, the first dress is absolutely to die for. What a gorgeous dress. The third one is nice as well, but if I had to vote, I would vote on the first one!!! Wow, what a dress!!!

Re: Tea Length or Long Dresses???

Im doing both long and cocktail length for my wedding

I know my answer is a little later...lol

Anyway...if youre still look at those dresses that are in cocktail length both of them are barijay.com as pp said

All of my BM dresses are Bari Jay.
You should check with netbride.com for pricing
All of my girls dresses were $111 - $120 (they each are wearing a different bari Jay dress) Netbride had the best prices around that I could find

Turiya, honey I am so late on this one but I think its wonderful....As an afterthought I think your final decisions as far as the dress choices, they are great too. Other than the balls for the BM's what were your final decisions on the centerpieces? I also love the boutainnaires you chose also!

Re:Re:Tea Length or Long Dresses???

I still say Tea Length, however, I'd much prefer the 4th one.  It's the type of all-purpose dress that could be worn to a wedding, anniversary, dinner date, etc...  It's extremely, multifunctional!!!

I like tea or cocktail length dresses

See now that's HOT! my bridesmaids are older and I just can't see them
in fruffy gowns. They would probably kill me if I made them anyway!
I found this in Wisteria and I just love it:
