vow renewal

Hello all I was not able to have a wedding this year due to unforseen events,so me and my husband were married by the judge on july 21 2007. My mom wants to give us a party so I thought it would be fun to do it next year and just renew our vows at the same time so that family and friends can witness it since they didnt the first time. Can anyone tell me the proper etiquette on this??? I know that I am not a bride and that we can can not follow the same guidelines for a wedding but can someone give me advice on this? Also,I want to do a tiffany theme for my vow renewal and anniversary party any ideas (centerpieces etc...)??? One more thing, how do I word the invitations and should I explain why we are doing this on our save the date cards? any tips are helpful!!!!!

Re: vow renewal

First - Welcome to the board mrswhiting!
Second - You can still have a ceremony for your vow renewal. If you go to the wedding pictures forum you can see georgiagurl and tdankel who each had a full ceremony for their renewals. Also, I'll bump the topics we've had so far on Tiffany themed weddings. I saw a cute saying somewhere for renewal wording. I'll try to find it now.

Once again welcome and make yourself at home!

Re: vow renewal

Welcome to the sisterhood mrswhiting ~ First and foremost, you may call it a vow renewal, but in reality it's a wedding. As you previously stated, you and your husband went to the court and did it. You could be as elaborate or as tone down as you wish. You may go through the steps, choose your bridesmaids, your MOH, FG and everything. Have a ball with it. Why should you rob both of you of this very special day? Have at it!!! Start planning and if the Tiffany wedding interest you, we've spoken about it adnauseum. You just have to go through previous forums and you'll have some great things.

Happy planning!!!

Re: vow renewal

Hi and welcome to the site. I agree with the other ladies. If you still desire to have a full ceremony, go for it! We have a saying on this site called "Your Day, Your Way!
Born Blessed!
