Thanks

When should you send out your Thank You Cards ...I've been to 2 weddings this year, 1 in June and 1 in October ...knew the brides very well and gave nice gifts ...YES they said thank you, but neither sent a card ...isn't that just etiquette to do so. I was thinking of this while thinking of our lay out, bc you know me ...it's DIY time! ...Smile

What do you think of:

One thank you for the gift,
And another for the thought.
A dozen thank yous couldn't tell you
All the happiness they brought.

And the best of gift of all was you sharing in our special day!

What are some that you've used for saying thanks?

I just don't think some of "us" believe in thank you notes like they don't believe in RSVPs. Its sad, and kind of trifling! You know your people but if it were my people I wouldn't hold my breath!

Turiya, it's customary to send your thank you cards as soon as you can after your wedding, upon your return from your honeymoon. I would say within a month or two after the wedding. People would be expecting them early.

My friend got married in April 07, I just got a thank you card in November. I think that is extremely too long and i did her hair for the wedding. My best friend got married in early September 07, nothing yet either. Both of them were and are waiting on the pictures from the photographer. at that point i wouldnt wait for the pictures to come, I would have just sent the thank you's out asap and let them know pictures are coming soon after(if I decide to give everyone a picture). I made sure with my photographer that the pictures would not take that long to come back. She ensured me they would be ready within 2 weeks after the wedding. So I can get them out within a month after.

I sent my thank you cards out 2 1/2 weeks after the wedding.

I went to two weddings also (my cousins) and they didn't send out thank you cards either. Personally I think it is bad manners not to send out thank you cards.

As you know, our home was broken into while we were on our honeymoon, although we know we received gifts, we are unsure of who did what, or who did nuffin ...so we opted for "Thank You" postcard with little words instead =)

Shy if I didn't know better, I would think you were talking about me. I was married 4/28/07 and waited soooooooooo long to get my Thank You cards back from my photographer that I could have put them inside of xmas cards by the time I got them back. I did send a plain Thank Card out in August apologizing for delay and telling them they would be getting a picture soon. Trifling, I know. All I can say ladies is blame it on the hand, not the heart.

lol nooo... but that was nice to send a thank you letting your people know that there is a delay. I would send a plain version too until the others come. I still have not received anything. Smile

Since she claim the "kids" bought us a wedding gift A PUPPY! If I didn't already have 2 big boy dogs, I would have taken it ...and named that "female dog" right after her. &!(%#
