Re: DIY Aisle Runner

I am not a fan of the aisle runner....Is it mandatory? Why don't you blaze your own trail and roll the red carpet for yourself (if that's your colors) or create a flower path of petals?

Re: DIY Aisle Runner

me either, my church has no center aisle, but even if we did I don't know if I would use one.

A lot of times they don't roll like they are supposed to and to me in order to have one that is really nice you have to spend a little more money than I want to spend. Many of the inexpensive aisle runners look like how much you paid for them.

I have however heard of people buying plain runners, stenciling the wording onto the runner and then painting the words, I'm not sure what type of products you would need to use though

Wow! Thats a good idea! Maybe djimonsmom can look into this, however I would test the design on that type of aisle runner fabric just in case

I know...one of my church members that got married in Sept. when they went to roll hers out it would not roll and they had to try to pull it out and tore part of it, you could see the frustration on the ushers face and the bride was standing there waiting Sad

I wouldn't have a clue, although, I'm not sure if I will be having an aisle runner or not. I like the idea of having a red carpet. Maybe mine will be a Merlot carpet with Daphne rose borders. I'm really thinking about this one. Great suggestions!!!

Re: DIY Aisle Runner

I'm having a monogrammed aisle runner. It will be a DIY project. I will have the runner down for the entire ceremony. The center aisle will be roped off as the guests arrive but my entire BP will be entering across the runner. Here are the instructions I'm using:
I'll find the instructions I'm using this evening and post them for you.

Future ~ Diva, you're a treasure. I even found the instructions for the pocketfold invitations that I was looking for. I don't know how to thank you. Heck, if I were in Chicago, I would be your coordinator for the day of your wedding free. You saved me a lot of time on research. Thanks Diva!!!

I found a site, customizedweddingcreations.com that has pics of gorgeous runners that the lady makes. But she also tells how to do it yourself. Its fairly easy, and I plan on making my own.

Very nice! I had opted NOT to have one, but I am REALLY re-thinking it now...maybe not for the isle since we don't have a single one, but maybe I can have it for when people are coming in the church????

Thank you.
I definitely plan to drop a few rose petals in those areas.
I dont think it will be very noticeable being that I will have the aisle roped off so that the guest do not walk down the center aisle

My Wedding...

I am having my wedding in May. It was originally scheduled to be in march, but since I'm planning and doing almost everything DIY myself, its getting to be too much, and I need more time. My colors are black, white, and pink. I found a nice $600 dress at Davids bridal's $99 dollar sale just because it was being discontinued to make room for new designs! I am making my own bouquet's, aisle runner, invitations, and most decorations. I saved alot of money by getting married in my fiance's small town instead of in atlanta where I am from. In Atlanta, the venue was 700-1200 dollars. I found a place the same size, with a nice kitchen, bathrooms, and including chairs and tables, even a stage for only....$150!!!! Now I can splurge on chair covers, linens, and other nice things. A soon to be uncle in law will be doing our photography. The family will be doing food since I want down home cooking, and I might just hire a dj now that I have some extra funds. Our favors are cd's of songs both me and my fiance love, and personalized m & m's. I still don't know what type of centerpiece I am doing yet. But since I have time now I'm not in a rush. Let me tell you though, the dollar store can be your friend ladies...definitely's mine. We will be honeymooning in Savannah, Ga. I've always wanted to go, and now I am. But if anyone has any ideas for inexpensive pink black and white centerpiece ideas, and pew decorations, please let me know, and pics if you have em. Thanks!!!

Re:My Wedding...

One ideato use instead of flower centerpieces is to use the clear glass bowls that you can get at the dollar stores. Put water in each along with votive candles and flower petals. You can sprinkle flower petals on the tables also. Don't buy them at a florist. Go online to ebay or search bulk flower petals to purchase. You can get them inmost any color silk or real.

These three remain; faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. Cor
