Navy Blue and Burnt Orange
I put my colors on another forum and asked for ideas using my colors but I can't find anything for a wedding using these colors. We have officially set the date for October 18th of this year. We are really trying to plan things early because of our busy careers. he is a Chef and I am a Pre-School teacher. I would greatly appreciate your help so our sanity is saved. I think that we want a bit of a fall theme, but we are not for sure.

Re: Navy Blue and Burnt Orange
Thats a different one but not impossible....It can even be very beautiful...
I will look a little later for some more pics b/c I couldn't find any initially. With a unique color combination such as yours you will have to do a little more to come up with a clear vision as to how you want to approach...
Theme: I would start with finding a logo to carry-out through the event...If you were doing this as a posh party for a friend who says these are her favorite colors, how would you bring it through? SO start thinking of a logo.
-examples would be your initials in a beautiful script font, a fall leaf, a orange-hued flower, a bird, or any personal touch that is special to you and your FH. You can even do hearts, a star, or anything!
Stationary
1. Invites: How about cream or off-white with navy font with an orange border with your logo on top?
2. Programs: Single, double or tri-fold in a cream color with the same navy font and an orange bow. The same can be done with Menu Cards sitting on the plates at the reception
Here is a sample of a navy blue invite with a winter theme I found that you may or may not like:
I found another:
If it comes out at all the font should be navy blue...
Ceremony: I would focus on fall-colors for the flowers: Shades of orange, coral, reds petals on the ground for you to walk on as you enter, and the same rich color flowers as boutainnaires and bouquets wrapped tightly in a soft orange silk ribbon.
Exchange vows under or infront of a beautiful wrought-iron arch for a garden in the fall- feel thats covered in beautiful vines with red, orange, yellow, and other similar rich colors
-Attire: Men: Black tuxedoes with navy details (vest)...the boutainnaires will add a touch of color to their whole ensemble.
Ladies: Long navy dresses with their brightly colored bouquets in hand
to add a touch of color
Reception:
Favors: Individualized mini-wine bottles with an authentic label with a cream background with the initials or names of you and FH, in the exact same beautiful font in orange and/or navy blue....
Centerpieces: The sky is the limit here....I posted this favor in another post, but here is a favor with a beach theme with your colors:
Here is another that you can add navy blue details to:
Cake: Determine the flavor you want and the feel you are looking for: Conservative, with little flowers, colors or script? Fun or exotic with a different flavor in each layer? How about sitting on a silver base with a rich navy scarf as the table cloth with the table covered in your "signature" colored petals?
I'll add some more pictures later, but I hope I have helped a little.
So its not about making everythink match, but incorperating colors subtly to get the desired effect

Or with orange roses and navy ribbons.
Decorated with navy ribbons and bouquet jewels.
With a navy ribbon of course!
You can use an orange sash!
I'd like this setup with orange napkins!

Oh! Just had a thought, that paper is usually specialty (i.e. $$$) embossed paper...I did a bridal shower with plain white paper and printed the font, then I used a heart-shaped rubber stamp with metallic silver paint to stamp a pretty antique-looking pattern of hearts on the invite....I used the same pattern on the favors which were mini white paper bags (like those brown lunch bags from back in the day)...but I am saying you can use orange paint and a stamp (try a craft store like Michael's) with a vine, leaf pattern to create a beautiful image for all the stationary....

Re: Navy Blue and Burnt Orange
great idea! I am using those "penny candy" bags for my Old Skool candy station and I am going to get wedding rubber stamps from Oriental trading to stamp the bags; I searched the net for HOURS and finally found the bags so I am passing the info along for anyone else that may need them: http://blaircandy.com/pecaba1lb50.html

Re:Re: Navy Blue and Burnt Orange
The pictures that you found were perfect. My boyfriend's favorite color is dark blue, and my favorite is orange, so I thought the color combo is amazing.
This might sound weird, but I was thinking of actually having orange lips for the ceremony.
