Re: Cake Letters

Hi Teresa,

I wasn't able to post the pictures you wanted because they're copyrighted, however, if you go to www.advantagebridal.com. There, you will find truly magnificent ones. FH and I have just ordered 2 Fully Encrusted Swarovski Crystal Cake Jewelry Letters ( B,A). They were $74.95 for each letter, but that's what we wanted. They have lesser priced ones, but go and pay them a visit. You will not be disappointed.

I was looking for letters to go in front of cake.We don't have a ac moore where I leave I don't think. But yes I was looking for pics like that or ideas.

Thanks

You can find the wooden letters at Walmart in the arts & craft section. You just have to paint them yourself. Also, many dollar stores have been known to carry them.

I paid Eddy $10 for my 6" letter including shipping. He doesn't have a website but if you email him at craftyeddy@gmail.com he'll send you pictures.

Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Target, Walmart, Joanns, etc. all have wooden letters as well!

I just bought the one letter. If I would have gotten three (large last initial with smaller first initials) it would have been $16, including shipping, if I'm not mistaken.

Hey housewife147
HE charged about $3 per letter and I use a glue call gem tac ( I think)
It worked great and it dried clear which worked out for me cause I was a little messy at times

I use the flat back stones from rhinestoneshop.com

I use paypal
I got an instant confirmation
The shipping is free and I received my stones within about 3 days

I ended up ordering from him about 3 or 4 times
Each time was a good experience and I had no issues at all

Make sure you purchase the Swarovski flat back stones
I used size 9ss which was pretty small so you could definitely go up a size if you like for your cake topper letter

Your table accent letters could be larger.
I did mt table numbers with stones and I purcahsed the 16ss for those.

As far as colors ....
Check out his color chart..it shows each stone
http://www.rhinestoneshop.com/rhinestone-colors/

My suggestions would be
use the smoked topaz for a brown color and Chrysolite for the ivory...and then paint your wood letters gold to give it a shimmer from behind

Thank you so much I will surely do that. Eddy sent me a picture of a number that he did and it had a beading edge on it. I thought it was lovely. I was wondering how I was going to decorate the stand. I was thinking of just shalacking it. I thought that I migh mess it up if I tried to put stones on it.

Re: Cake Letters

Hi Teresa, for the stone color, I think you should use either Cobalt or Sapphire and for the stone effect, use the white opal sky blue. You only need the stone in the front of the letters.

Re: Cake Letters

Wow, that was fast. I think I'm going to jump on yet another DIY. I'm going to return the very expensive letters we've ordered and go with Crafty Eddy instead. Since he charges only $20 for the letters, right sisters? And I new last name has 2 initials that's only $40. Plus the crystals and the glue, I'm still saving a lot of money.

Re: Cake Letters

Hey Ladies!

Ok, I ordered Swarovski Crystals a while back to use on one of my DIY projects but that project fell through. (The idea in my head seemed good but once I started working on it I realized that it wasn't that great in reality.) So now I have all these crystals and figured that I might as well use them for a Monogrammed Cake Topper.

I was going to ask for website listings but I guess Crafty Eddy is the person I should contact. Yes?

That size may be too large
You may want to try and stick with 12ss or less

Re: Cake Letters

It really depends on your font. My 'J' has such intricate swirls that the 16ss was too large for those sections. I used 10ss - which is super tiny but I got them from someone for cheaper than it would have been to buy the 12ss.

Re: Cake Letters

Welcome to the sisterhood dazy585. I think that Burgundy with some Gold or Silver might be just fine instead of the ivory. You need some major bling and the Gold or silver with the Burgundy will give you just that touch of Bling that you're looking for.
