Re: Need help deciding on table size?

Maybe the person who is renting you the space can give you some suggestions as far as how many 8-seaters or how many 10-seaters will actually fit leaving space for the dance floor...cause there is no way you can know without trying it out... ....If you haven't asked already....At least 5-6 10-seaters, plus head table OR 7 8-seaters plus head table)

OR you may consider long, rectangles or square tables:

The spaces are kind of big in these pics but you can save on room with square or rectangles. Best of luck

Need help deciding on table size?

Hi everyone:

I am having a big problem on deciding on what size and shape of table to rent? I am having 50 guest attending the reception and I was thinking to get 4 - 72 in round table or 2 - 8 ft banquet table.

I know with the 72in. round it holds about 10 people but I don't know about the 8 ft banquet table.

I want to be able to have enough room to have a dance floor and not have everyone on top of each other. The reception area is the size of a studio apartment or a large loft.

My wedding is November 22, 2008 and I have not done anything yet.

8' tables seat 8 (2 on the ends, 3 each side). Round tables take up more floor space.

You can use this setup for some of your tables (maybe the bridal party and the families):

That's going to be hard to fit 50 people comfortably and have a dance floor. Are you having a dj as well? That's another table, plus you'll need a cake and gift table. Your best bet may be long banquet tables lining the walls of room creating a dance floor in the middle.

Thank you everyone!

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to set up this room and what to rent. Thank you very much. I like the pictures, the DJ has a separate room to use.

At the 8ft table can 4 people sit together instead of 3 and do the bridal party have to sit with the bride and groom.

You can put 4 people at the 8ft table but it may be a little cramped (2ft per person). You can also sit people on both sides of the table. The BP can sit separately from the bride and groom. You can have a sweetheart table for you two and let the rest of the BP sit with the other guests or their significant others.
