Help with garter

Hi. I havent been on here since my special day was cancelled. I am Maid of HOnor now for my friend. I am interested in getting here garter. I know I need to purchase two. One for her groom to throw and one for her to keep. Can someone help me because the websites mention a "poker" and a "garter."
Anyone been an attendant?

I've seen garter sets on some websites and they specify that one is for throwing and one is to keep. David's Bridal also sells garter sets.
