Hello ladies! I am new to the site & I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND IT!!! I have been on various wedding sites & gotten some great ideas but I'm happy to be here, I already got some wonderful ideas from you ladies already ( Thanks)I'm getting married on July 17th, 2009 & I just started really planning. I'm having problems figuring out my decor as I'm using an Old Hollywood theme around the '40's era. My colors are silver, black & touches of pink. Any ideas from you ladies are greatly appreciated!!!!

Welcome Nicky. I responded under your "Ideas" post but I'll say it again here. You and FH can take some black and white pics and use them through out the room. You can use the photos on your wedding programs, favors, menus, etc.

Thank you ladies so much, I wasn't sure if anybody read the newcomer file too much so I posted it under ideas as well..my fault! Let's see the ceremony will be around 5 or 5:30 we haven't dec. just yet. We will be using a beautiful fire hall b/c we're expecting about 350 guest & where we're from not to many places can accom. more then 250. Our wedding party is an equal 7/7. The fire hall is fairly large and we have been given permission to decorate in any way we choose. Pamcrow I like the idea about the black & white photos ( I thought that too) but i started looking at easels for displaying them & was blown away at the costs...any ideas on where to find them for a reasonable price??? Thank you Daughter Rhonda for making me feel welcome & send those ideas my way!!!!!

Welcome to the sisterhood nicky350, and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. I myself am having an old Hollywood theme based on romantic movies of the silver screen era. I absolutely love your colors and I took the liberty of guathering some examples to help with your planning.

Wow 350 guests!!! That's a really big wedding. I am so in concert with Pamcrow's ideas and it's easy to find black and white photos. You could go to Turner Classic Movies.com and find movies from the silver screen area and print those pictures out. You'll find frames at your friendly .99 cents store and buy picture frames with black wood. All you have to do is cut out the pictures and frame them. That's the most inexpensive way of doing it. You'll save a bundle.

Welcome. Those pictures are very pretty. I think having classic hair and outfits will make the night special too.

Beautiful pictures Ginoue, I know these will be very useful.

Nicky posting is very simple. The easiest is to use tinypic.com you don't have to be a member to use it. If the pics are saved on your pc or a disc, all you have to do is go to www.tinypic.com, once there, you will click on "browse" and that will take you to the part of your pc that the pics are saved on. You will then select the picture you wish to post,and hit "upload now". That will take you to another page. You will make the first selection, the one that says "HTML" for websites. You copy it and paste it to the body of your message within the vibride window and hit "post reply" and it's posted. It's that simple.

As for the pictures above, some are from weddings that I've done and others are from google.

Also I was thinking of doing black & silver satin tablecloths, alternating each table how does that sound?

I think the bridesmaid dresses are very pretty. I love that look. The cake and the centerpieces are chic also.
