For your last "hook up" anniversary...

...did you do anything for your last dating anniversary? Did you get married on that date or was your engagement so short that the final anniversary wasn't even on the radar? Or did you guys ever settle on which day you guys officially hooked up? Or, like a relative of mine, you don't bother to remember the day? LOL

December 3rd has always been the date where we celebrate our hooking up. Since this year will be our 5th and last "hook-up" anniversary, we decided to go on a nice inexpensive road trip to New Orleans. I've got an excellent 4 day rate at this B&B in Fauboug Marigny. I figure that I could use the vacation by then. I could use one now. LOL

*fires off the ticker!* I cant wait!

Wow "hook up" anniversary. Never heard of that before. FH and I celebrate the anniversary of our First date though, is that what you meant? I think it's a grand idea all the same.

I checked out your B & B what a truly magnificent place and so very affordable. You're giving me ideas Butterbean and just when I thought we were all set for our honeymoon. FH has never been to New Orleans and might very much enjoy this. I was planning to honeymoon for 5 days and 4 nights. What a terrific place and not too far from the French quarters too. Wow!!!

My hubby and I celebrate the day he proposed. August 18, 1992. We have a romantic dinner now instead of a weekend getaway because of our daughter Ford. I love that he still remembers it and smiles about it after 14 years of marriage.

DH and I recognize June 1, 2002 as the start of it all. That's the first day we ever spoke to one another. We don't do anything special to celebrate it though.

Re: For your last "hook up" anniversary...

We acknowledge Sept 5th our 'hook up' date. This Sept will be 5 yrs strong. We usually send the kids to the grandparents and enjoy the day with each doing whatever, being that my first born was born before we hit our one year anniversary. Last year we spent it doing what we did on the first day we hooked up, hung out watching our favorite movies all day.

Re: For your last "hook up" anniversary...

our wedding date July 25th was chosen because that was the date we hooked back up after several years. We couldn't remember the date we actually met, aside from it was sometime in Sept....lol

Time is just WHOOSHING by. Tomorrow, we are in for a possible 8 to 9 hour drive from Dallas to New Orleans. Then before you know it...wedding day!!!

But I do not look forward to that drive. LOL

Enjoy it, Butterbean! You two are a great-looking couple, by the way. I love the photoshopped images. LOL! I've never been there myself, but supposed to attend a conference there early next year and looking forward to it.

Re: For your last "hook up" anniversary...

Hi all!!

We made it back in one piece and had a great time! That B&B was in an eccentric neighborhood (Faugboug Marigny) that was just a hop-skip-and a jump away from the quarters, in fact, we mostly walked to our destinations and took a cab or a streetcar back. We felt safe and comfortable as if we had our own home in New Orleans. I was glad that we had decided on a B&B instead of a hotel.

Princess, I believe that you will like it. I must confess that FH and I have different tastes than most people, so I don't know exactly what to recommend. If you like art galleries, I recommend Royal Street in the French Quarter. In fact, FH decided to have this painting on his grooms cake. *shrug* It's his choice. LOL

As for the food; I don't know if we went to the wrong places, but the food seems overrated to me. I stayed away from the fried stuff, but I've ordered Jambalaya and boudain from three different places and I was disappointed.
We like the shops at the Garden District along Magazine Street, it was a nice break from the typical tourist attractions.
I regret that we didn't take the ferry to the other side of the river, and we didn't get to check out the African American Museum, the New Orleans museaum, nor Oak Alley Plantation which was about 30 to 40 miles away from Orleans.

Re: For your last "hook up" anniversary...

Wow butterbean- that sounds like a dream getaway for me. It sounds like it was really unique, and just perfect for a short getaway- we will have to do that sometime too!! Oh but a little disappointing about the food!!WHat a shame...I love getting my grub on, and so does FH even though he is slim!!
