Okay, the big day is almost here and I have one big problem, we dont have a dj and with everything goin on we cant find an affordable one. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can have music at my reception without the costs?

Hi Kedra,

Some couples have had success with hooking up an Ipod to some speakers(not sure how it's done)....or you can pre-program a CD player with with all your tunes, or hook-up a laptop with the tunes to some speakers.

See: DJ alternatives

...And welcome!

Re: reception dj

an IPOD with some decent sounding speakers.

where are you located? how much time do you have? have you checked into Craig's list ? you may still have a shot in finding someone for a decent price.

Re: reception dj

awe!!! i think the IPOD would be a good thing to do because you can upload so many songs. and for certain parts of the reception where you have special request songs for bouquet toss, garter, etc you can designate someone to make sure it's on point. then let it play out for the night.

We like details here, what are your colors, theme, your gown design etc. let us in...Smile

Re: reception dj

my colors are chocolate, ivory, champagne, and gold. I cant really say how my dress looks cause my FH is next to me (lol!). But my wedding is themed for fall. Its really easy planning a fall themed wedding during this time of year.

Yeah, he is hell bent on knowin what the dress looks like. We've already had an incident where I had to change dresses cause he saw the one I picked initially.

I agree! Ipod or laptop! Make those playlists and let it run! Spend the money on renting speakers or something, get one of those savy men to hook it up and get ya dancin on!
