Shaz, your website is so beautiful. I love it! I especially like the Guest Memo page. Great idea! "Guest substitution will not be permitted." LOL! I should have thought of that in advance.

Re: Shaz's Blog

Wow Shaz, your website is beautiful. I too like the info you included in the guest memo and how you worded the info in gift registry. Your mom looks like she could be your sister. And Mulan and the pups, how adorable. Especially with their hair done....LOL That was to cute. My husband is a Harris too. I wonder if you're related somehow.

Hello Sisters,

Thank you for all the positive feedback. I had my FH laughing. I told him my VIBride Sisters signed the guestbook but none of his family had. Shameful! Some of them now have. Smile

Blksaphire- Mulan is too much. If I didn't know any better, I would think she was 50% human. She is sitting here looking at me now.

More to come...

Like I always tell my brides-"Enjoy the moment!"  Throughout the wedding day I did just that-I looked around at my family, the guest, the rooms, the decor and realized...This is Our Wedding Day! After months of planning and brainstorming March 7th was finally here!  It was truly an event that echoed the personality, style and vision of my husband and myself.

Smooches...

Thank you ladies!

VIPrincessBride-The cake was made out of styrofoam and I had it covered in fondant.  The same  thing you see when you enter bakeries and see theirdisplay (dummy) cakes.

Re:Wow

Thank you Sis!  When I put my vision together no one could see it.  I had to actually set up a mock table for my husband, sisters and my mother.   The guests knew my color scheme in advance (STD, my blog and invitations) and had formed their opinions on how they thought  things were going to look. Some of the comments I heard were so negative. The pictures don't do justice-it was a true WOW factor when everyone entered the reception room.  Once they entered the room everything changed...They LOVED it...Hatersan image...Dont get me started...LOL
I apologize, to answer your question go to your nearest Walmart and look for accent shades.  Everything you saw was done by us.  I kept everything in house.

Re:Re:Wow

I'm having the same problem, alot of people involved are saying why did I picked the colors I picked and how are these centerpieces going to look, that cake is too much, simple is best.  You name it and I've heard it.  But what they don't understand is when your the type of girl that has dreamed of your wedding all your life not that many peoples opinion really matter.  I'm just trying to stay focused and unfold the vision that my fiance and I have.  Thanks for telling me about the lamps.

Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Wow

Shaz, I'm with you on the vibrant colors especially when it comes to linen. I find it does so much to change the look of a room even more than flowers or other centerpieces can. The problem is that companies and venues charge an arm and a leg to rent their linen. I found that our venue would have charged us 5 times as much to rent the same linen that I purchased myself. The hotel coordinator was trying his hardest to convince me that we needed to rent theirs. Whatever! I was like, no way! We can take care of this ourselves. When he came to inspect the room afterwards, he was saying to me, "Oh, your family did such a great job with the room." You know I was rolling my eyes. LOL!!

Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Wow

5 times more is ridiculous. I can believe it though!  Just the word "wedding" can equal a price increase. I always remind my clients EVERYTHING is negotiable.  I can't count how many times I have been hired as a 'Day of Coordinator' and after reviewing my clients contracts I discover they have been charged a premium or overcharged for a product or service...

Hey Rosie...how are you?  Yes, its been awhile.  No, I did not get a hold of Shaz.  I was trying to reach out to her regarding the wedding she attended on Fisher Island...I was interested in the bride's dress - I'm on a mad search for another one like it.  How are your girls doing?  and yes my theme and color will remain the same.

The girls are awesome! I am a very proud Mama! Wasn't that girls dress custom made? Was it a Haitian wedding. Everything was lavish at that thing.

Yes it was very lavish..but I'm not sure if the dress was cutom made...Thats's actually one if the questions I had for Shaz.  I wouldn't be surprised if it was an "original".  Believe it or not, I located the bride on facebook  and asked her about the dress, but no response at all.

About the dress

Maybe she is tired of getting questions about it or she hasn't checked her FB page in a while. You may get the answer soon. I had a link to the photographer, but I can't find it. I would suggest visiting the photographer's blog. They sometimes post information like that. Are you planning on making a dress like hers?
