Re: Mo's Blog

Tomorrow is Isaiah's birthday and I have to work. so I booked a room at Caesar's Palace in AC for Monday night. No cell phones, no kids, no leaving the room until checkout time. we have an early check in so we'll hit the casino for just a little while. Once the door closes that's it.

Re: Mo's Blog

So our romantic getaway was cut short. My friends came up and surprised us with lunch. We had a great time, he was pleasantly surprised that they'd do something like that just to meet him. After that we headed off to our oasis for some private time. We checked our phones after all the fun and that ended the mini-break. My job called me several times to come in, (I don't do brain surgery, I move trains. I'm not the only one who can cove the dang trains!) and he was asked to come back to his job, (his is a very intense profession)so we packed up and headed back.

Wow, Niquey! This sounds like the making of a fantasy wedding! I'm so happy for you! It's also nice to see all of the old heads back on the forum. Things haven't been that great for me lately. I've stayed off of the board because although I'm happy for the sisters that I have gotten married or planning to do so, it hurts to read about it sometimes. Congratulations, Niquey! I'm happy to hear you found your Prince.

Mo, Great job on the card box!

Regarding the favors, don't forget that if the bottles contain over 3 ounces of liquid, your OOT guests won't be able to return home with your favors unless they check their baggage. I know you mentioned that there would be a lot of OOT guests. With the extra fees for checked baggage these days, many might be just using carry-on's or just trying to avoid the hassle of checking luggage and having to retrieve it later for a short trip.

I thought about the same thing when selecting personalized favors. The company I chose had a choice of either the sparkling ciders or candles and we chose the candles for that reason.

Here they are:

You can select different designs including personalization with a photo and they can be bordered in either silver or gold. You can also have them add a bow at the top. Ours had our photo and a thank you verse, names and wedding date. It was trimmed in silver and tied with silver tinsel stars at the top. We didn't add any bows.

votive holders, or as my DH call them...shot glasses..LOL! Great idea and good way to involve your friend. They will probably also be less expensive.

That's fantastic, Mo!

I believe that I saw some soldiers being deployed before Christmas in the news. It was sad.

On a random note...these chairs look awful flimsy in this picture. I wonder if people really use them.
