Letterpress Invitations
Example:
Pretty, huh? Some people purchase them (quite pricey) and some people go to lengths to DIY them at a printing press (hard to find) that is available to them.
Has anyone purchased, plans to purchase, DIY'd or plans to DIY letterpress invites?
Invitations as a whole were kind of important to me but not extremely important. I found this set that we liked and fit our "paradise" theme. I love birds of paradise. I didn't want them in the bouquets though because I preferred softer flowers.
Tropical Luxury
They were thermographed, and we were very happy with them.

But they are beautiful. If you can afford it, I say go for it!

I know that's right. I had to "cut my eye." Even if the money is there to spend on them, a thrifty person like myself would rather spend it elsewhere. The only people who tend to hold onto them are the couple and maybe their parents. What about the people that tuck them away somewhere never to be found or never return the pre-stamped R.S.V.P. cards that you spent hard-earned money on?
If you can DIY them, that would definitely be a good way to go.

Re: Letterpress Invitations
Mo, A few years ago I met a woman who I didn't invite to my wedding, but my parents had invited her. She had my invite in her purse and said her daughter was getting married and she wanted to know If I could do them like that. People keep all kinds of mementos from your wedding. Even favors. That's why I always suggest giving practical favors, so they don't have a dresser filled with plastic swans and Styrofoam bride and groom figurines. YUCK!`

Really??!!! That was quite a compliment. Older people do hold on to things like that, don't they?
I'm all for the practical favors.
