Trash the Dress!!

Has any bride here done a "Trash the Dress" session or planning to do such a session with a photographer?

Personally, I cringe at the thought of possibly ruining my more formal wedding gown, but I definitely wouldn't have minded getting the simple dress wet or muddy.

I did this with Hubby. We went posing on the swings. I havent received the pictures yet, but we felt awkward about it. I don't have much faith with how those pictures turned out.

OMG!!!  Me too VIPrincessbride, I cringe at the thought and besides, my extremely formal family would have none of it.

Honestly the dress in hanging up (actually taking space up in my closet) in my closet and I don't see me EVER wearing it again. I would have done the mud shot! I think that one is kinda hot!

Re:No subject

I would have done the Trash the Dress shots. My gown is hanging in my mother's closet, getting on her nerves and I have no use for it anymore...

Re:Re:No subject

I love that shot of the bride jumping in the pool!! Wow! She looks like she is having a ball! Turiya, men would love to see a couple women in that mud!

So a couple ladies said their gown is hanging in a closet. I have to admit mine is too. I've been looking at preservation companies online, but feeling leery. Anyway, I found out the suggested gown preserver that's sewn into the label of my gown is located in Fairfax, Va which is within driving distance. So I'm probably going to go there to have it done. They've been in business since 1947, and they are "the recommended care-provider of many of the finest and respected gown designers and retailers, as well as museums, including professionals at the world renowned Smithsonian Institution. "

On Full Service preservations, warranty is valid for 50 years, and is not void if you open the box to inspect the gown!

The only way I'm trashing a $4,000 dress is if the photo is absolutely woth it. Some of those photos are stunning. but others is just a waste of money. I love this photo. I bet I would never in a million years get the courage to do it. Maybe it's Photoshopped!

Re:Re:Re:Re:No subject

Here is my "trash the dress" picture, or the best one of the bunch. Keep in mind that trashing the dress doesn't always mean that you have to obliterate it. Some brides just sit on dirty things trucks or pose around unglamourous areas and call them TTD photos. Hubby really wasn't supposed to be in it, but I thought, what the heck...
As I said before, we felt akward and killed the session midway.

You don't LOOK awkward. It's very endearing. It is just very sweet. There is a pic of my parents the morning after the wedding and my mom is still in her dress. They are leaaning against an overturned wheelbarrow and my dad is kissing her on her nose. I just love it so much. I wonder if it took him more than one day to consumate that marriage. lol Also her dress was still perfect. I was going to wear it for my wedding.
