Butterbean...
I saw the show last night and both weddings featured were absolutely beautiful....I actually started tearing when I saw what the asian bride's planner had done for her.  The harlem jazz theme wedding planner went all out for that couple....it was "AMAZING".

Thanks, Butterbean! I'm going to set the recorder. I can't wait to see it! I love that era!!!an image  I have to admit I haven't seen this show in a while since we switched to satelite. I've been OD'ing on Bridezilla, Rich Bride Poor Bride, and Platinum Weddings on the WE channel..getting caught up with what I've been missing. LOL!!!

Did anyone see the last 2 black brides on Platinum Weddings?  One was the DC wedding of a football player (I can't remember his name.)  The other one was a young couple who got married at this palace place in New Jersey.

Wow, I did all of this pluggin and missed the episode myself. LOL

I've only seen two black brides on Platinum Weddings. One had on a black dress with Jagged Edge performing at the reception (I would have loved to have attended this wedding), the other was an Alanta bride whose family came from Haiti and she had this over-the-top carriage for a wedding cake.

I didn't see those weddings Butterbean, but I did happend to catch the "All that Jazz" episode. It was pretty. I liked the bride's gown and birdcage veil. The groom's attire perfectly fit that 20's jazz theme. For the centerpiece's they used feathers, which I thought was also perfect. I loved the paintings they added to the reception room to enhance the theme even more. It was very classic in a Harlem Renaissance way and perfect for the New York/New Jersey area.

Wow, I set a reminder for myself and still manage to miss it.  Hopefully, they'll give it again.

Whose Wedding is it Anyway - "Harlem Jazz" themed wedding

I saw the show yesterday. I LOVED the Harlem wedding and the couple was adoreable! The bride's dress was awesome, the groom was stylish and they picked a fantastic venue! I just wish that their their segment wasn't paired with that other wedding. It seemed like this episode focused more on the drama from the colorful winter wedding than the fun details of the Harlem Jazz. I hate when WWIIA does this! I'm sorry that the bride's mother had to go through all of that trouble with immigration, I feel for the bride. Other than that, I was bored with that segment. I had to flip channels to watch Millionaire Matchmaker while they were on.

I wonder if I can find pictures of the Harlem wedding online. Hmmmm.

That dress is outstanding y'all! She looks great. Thanks for posting these Butter. I love Platinum Weddings. Whenever there is a black bride on there I get extra puffed up and happy about it. I loved the Haitian wedding. They are notorious for fabulous extravagant affairs. No matter how poor or how rich, their weddings are showstoppers!

Other cool things that add to that Harlem Renaissance period would be:

Feather fans for your guests or Bridesmaids.

Add feather centerpieces! I love the lushness of these centerpieces. Do it yourself and save over $100 per centerpiece.

Look for a dramatic Head piece. Women of that period were strong and, educated and sassy.
A veiled hat was all the rage back then...
