My sister had her wedding last December, the week before Christmas.  She only took seven days to plan her wedding with a $2,000 budget.  Now that I'm getting married, I try to include her ideas and try to ask her for advice (being that she's my Matron of Honor) but everytime i bring up the wedding she says "Well when we have our wedding we wont do that..." ect.  How can i tell her that her wedding really was ghetto matrimony and i need her to get over it and help me out?  Please help me Ladies

Hey Dee- welcome to the site! I think the most important thing is to appreciate that everyone has their own particular taste when it comes to their big day (or small day) but the thing is every woman believes that its the most important or most special day of their lives- I think that even hinting that you thought your sister's wedding was ghetto will cause some harm to your friendship- maybe you should rather remind her of the fact that whilst she liked things a certain way on her day- this is YOUR day and its going to be the way that you want it and NOT how she had hers! Just remind her that her role is to help your dream to come true and not to help duplicate her day!

ps- when is your wedding? what do you have planned? DISH THE goodness!!!!

Great advice Dreamgurl. I have 2 sisters and I know how sensitive they can get. lol. What is your budget, Delightful24? What is the wedding of YOUR dreams? Most weddings cost more than we think and while your sisters was frugal, it made her happy. Concentrate on what makes you happy. Also I would give her a particular part of the wedding to go cheap on and let her have control of just that. You handle everything else. Talk your wedding over with your MOH or your other best  friends who have a similar taste level. This way your sister won't be upset.
