I have noticed in the 319 married men I polled a while back, over 80% of them said they knew they were going to marry their wives within the first few hours of seeing her. That really says a lot. If you are with someone who doesn't even want to talk about it after a few years of dating, consider moving on. My rule is if there is no casual discussion about getting married brought up by the guy after 6 months, I flat out ask if they have thought about getting married. To anyone. Not to me in particular. After that, give them 2 years. no proposal after two years, end the relationship and move on. They are probably still waiting for the right girl to come along.

I did the poll in 2002. It's time for another I think. It has been my policy since I turned 18. I have had a lot of proposals. Some good, some youjust had to laugh, but men will avoid commitment if they can. WHy cook and clean and deal with farts if you don't even have security?
