small church?

Hello, this is sort of wedding related. Did any of you ladies have a small church and a good amount of guests. My baby is being dedicated and I am all nerves as our family is large. The pastor says the church is small but they will fit us in. does it usually work out in the end?

Re:small church?

Yes it does! You would be surprised at how many people can pack into a church! Do you have a capacity count for the church? Or an accurate number of guests? You mmay need to just invite hardcore chuch goers into the church and any other casual friends at the reception following. Not everyoone may feel obligated to come to the church.

Re:Re:Re:small church?

The party is the best part! lol. Are you having a breakfast reception or brunch or dinner after the dedication? We have cute favors for christenings and baptisms. in our Vibrant Baby Store. How old is your baby?

I used these favors for my own  daughter's christening. I placed labels on the inside fold with her name and birthdate, weight and a short message:

Dedications are so beautiful.

If you didn't worry, things wouldn't get done. lol I am sure it will be very beautiful and moving. Don't forget to make sure you look great too and not just the baby. I look CRAZY in my photos. Also if you can afford it a professional photographer on that day is worth their weight in gold. If you can't afford it. Get your child's photo taken BEFORE the big day in all their finery so that you have something to remember the day for years to come.

Re:Dedications are so beautiful.

I am taking her to a portrait studio a few days before her dedication. I want the pictures to be perfect! I have made sure all of us have nice outfits ( basically out of our closets) cuz after the party we are on a budget again! I have asked a few people to take pictures that day and someone is going to film it. I cannot wait!

Girl, you got ME excited! lol. Don't forget to have a guest book. I love looking over the names of the people that attended the after party. Our Christening is in front of the whole congregation (9 am service anyway.) It was very crowded. But only about 25 people were at the reception. We had it at Emerald Beach Hotel. it was really pretty. Right on the beach. All the pics are pretty much of us in the restaurant and hardly any veiw of us with the view!

It was beautiful. Everyone fit perfectly into the church and we felt so loved. The sermon was about babies. The party turned out great. It was a full house. We just felt the support and love So, now on to buying  house and having a wedding.

I'm glad to hear that! I know it was exciting. I still get all warm and
fuzzy thinking about both my daughter's dedication to the church.
Everyone loves babies and the church LOVES new members. lol Did your
child wear white? Did everyone wear white? That is done sometimes. It's
very pretty. I could not get my husband in a white suit even if I got
him drunk and promised a BJ after. lol
Check out this cool christening invitation idea:
