Vow Renewal

Hi Ladies!!!!
I am back on the boards after a long hiatus!!!  To make a long story short, my hubby and I got married in civil ceremony August 2007 and were planning to have a ceremony the following July.  Basically, our family just brought unnecessary drama to our wedding planning, so I decided not to have the celebration.  I couldn't take any more of the drama.
Fast forward three years later, and I realize that 1) I should not have let anyone steal my joy, and cause me to abandon something that I truly wanted and 2) my hubby and I have so much to celebrate so we want to renew our vows.  My question is where do I start???  I have no idea what to do, what's appropriate...I'm totally confused.  I'm hoping this will be the wedding I have wanted for so long.  Please help!
Thanks Smile

Re:Vow Renewal

Diva,
I'm so very happy to see that you're back.  Glad further still that you realise that you shouldn't let anyone steal your joy.
Now, as far as your renewal ceremony, let this be your WEDDING CEREMONY!!! you and your husband more than deserve it.  Plan it as you would any wedding.  Book your church, book your hall, get excited and remember to have it exactly the way you and your hubby envision it to be.  You set the bar Diva and those who don't like it would either fall in line or move aside!!!
Welcome back!!!

It will be fun!

Did you want to do something special this time around? Did you know that you can get anyone to marry you? It could be your dad or a favorite friend or your Godfather. Your vows can be anything you like and even include your children. I can't wait to help you plan this wedding! I know trhe Vibride posse will all be here for you too!

Re:It will be fun!

We were thinking of having a Rev. that my husband works with and likes very much to do it.  Last go round, we got married in a civil ceremony so we want to have a religious officiant this time.  We don't have children, but my husband has young siblings and I young nieces that we may be interested in incorporating.  What ideas do you have for incorporating children??

Re:Re:It will be fun!

There are lots of great ways to incorporate kids into your wedding. Here is an article about how to do just that. Click here.
Children Involvement In Wedding Ceremonies
Ways to include the kids
- Participate in a Family Unity Candle Ceremony
- Even the smallest kids can hand out wedding programs.
- Taking candid pictures with a Disposable Wedding Camera
- Helping to direct wedding ceremony guests to their seats (mini-ushers)
- Participate in a Wedding Medallion Ceremony
- Recite a Passage from the Family W5edding Bible
- Pull a very small child down the aisle in a decorated wagon.
- Handing out rice or confetti (or rose petals) from their adorable flower girl basket. (Ask if these tosses are allowed. Alternatives are wildflower seeds and wedding bubbles.)
