I like the idea of adding touches of our heritage without having a total African Theme to our weddings. I mean, most of our backgrounds are a total mix of cultures anyway. Here are a few of my favorites that

Consider adding simple things like Cake Toppers to make your heritage stand out or find bridal jewelry with African symbols. Can you find the stylized Sankofa Symbol in this bracelet? Hint: It looks like a heart!

Something as simple as choosing vibrant colors is a great way to pay homage to our African heritage. I am so in love with the vibrant color palatte Alvina Valenta uses for bridesmaids. They will surely "wake up" your guests!

This is a great initiative and a very good-step to adding our heritage in our marriage ceremonies. American culture is much diversified and has got a very rich-cultural heritage, which has some great historical significance as well.
This culture is very deep-rooted and we should incorporate it in our wedding ceremonies, which not only gives a great impression but this is also worthwhile for our new generation to carry on these culture and civilizations which will stay forever.
