Vintage Weddings

I adore anything vintage: Antique silver, pearls, ivory, crochet. It fills me with feelings of a more romantic period. Even African americans had periods of glamour even in times of heartbreaking struggle and in justice,
Vintage gowns come in many styles from the medieval princess look, The Charleston swing era, the Bohemian gypsy girl gown, 1950s and 1960s all American bride. Vintage headbands, veils and hair pins can celebrate this classic style affordably.

I love this headband. It could sit close to the face, right on the hairline or further back. It looks great with or without a veil. Just really stunning.

I love the 50's inspired look of this wedding dress. there appears to be very fine needlework on the dress. The floral comb and birdcage veil just enhaces the feeling of simple chic. This would be perfect for a casual wedding, second wedding or vow renewal.

I am in love with this modern take on the Beehive. What a great way to continue a vintage theme. It is one of the most flattering hairstyles for any shape face.

I love the simplicity of these hairstyles in contrast with ornate accessories like hair combs and art nouveau brooches.

Yippee! It's my favorite theme. What style of vintage are you thinking about? The 1920s, 50s or 60s?

I'm going for 1920-1940.  I'm planning to do ostrich feather
centerpieces and my colors are red, burnt orange and I'm still trying to
decide on an accent color

Look for vintage details in a modern gown, like fine lace, pleats, pearls and even a tea stain or champagne color.

Re:Re:Re:Vintage style Wedding Gowns

Those are fabulous images posted! I love the old look too and some of the dresses from the 1920s to the 1950s were very lovely. Women really knew how to sew back then. Who goes to a dressmaker anymore except when they're having their wedding dress made? I think a beautiful vintage-inspired dress paired with vintage but cheap wedding invitations would be really nice. I'm not sure how you would go about decorating the reception area but it could be a fun challenge.

Re:Re:Vintage Weddings

Omg... I'm in love with the second dress you had posted here. I'd definitely have to loose ten pounds to be able to pull it off but it's so gorgeous. Nice find!!!

The second dress

I really love the look of it too. Maybe you can find a seamstress who can duplicate it. The dress is so retro and fabulous.
