People still don't take things seriously

This has nothing to do with weddings, but I just want to remind people to take things seriously. Today at work someone was popping popcorn in the microwave. They left it on too long and it caught on fire. It was very smoky and the alarms were blazing. I got my purse, coat and headed out the door. What amazed me is that people kept right on working! Others stood by and waited for someone to tell them what to do. What ever happened to "better safe than sorry." What ever happened to thinking about your loved ones?

Fortunately, the building safety staff was able to put the fire out without incident.

Wow Rhony! thank God the fire was put out; and thank HIM for giving you the common sense to GET OUT!!! those other folks don't realize how "invaluable" they are to the company by risking their lives!if something was to happen to those individuals, the company would have them replaced in 2 wks! :(
I have always had the mentality that when I am at work, I will always put forth the greatest effort to do my job well, BUT when it comes to my health, family etc...that is always my priority because I know that if something happened to me in less than 1 month I would be a memory to this company!!

Well that is good that it didnt get out of hand, but I am right with you, better safe than sorry. Ain't a job in the world that important to risk my life for. They are some foolishly dedicated people.

Soon2bmsj -- you are so right in less than two weeks any employee would be replaced and in less than a month he/she would'nt be more than a memory! Health, safety & family first!

I know that's right Shy!!!!!!

Rhony I am sorry to hear about that....I get told all the time that I take things TOO seriously, and I am TOO passionate...And sometimes I want to back off, and all I get in return is ignorance and incompetence.....So what can you do? For one I won't be lowering my standards for the incompetence and ignorance of others....I think this world would be a lot better off if people had a sense of urgency and compassion for others...oh yeah and people can do a little better job of taking responsibility for their actions!

Stay strong, stay patient, and call on HIM in times of stress, frustration, sadness, and even disgust!

I agree with you Rhonny. I say get out while the getting is easy to do. It could've been worse and they would all fry for what? They don't realise how expandable they are. Once the company rebuilds, it would be with fresh faces as they would've been trapped inside and dead.

I agree with you, Rhony. Let me add something... Most of you know that I drive a tractor-trailer. I see traffic accidents everyday but it never ceases to amaze me how people still drive like they don't have any sense.

So true Ginoue, the company would replace them in a heartbeat and as time goes by they would be nothing more than a memory.

Plat -- I don't know why people drive crazy and put themselves and others in danger. I guess they just don't get it.
