That's great news about the weather for next weekend Tiffy, but so very sorry about your cancelled flight. The weather is terrible in the East girl. Be glad that you're in Florida, even though it may be raining.

To those of you who has done the DIY Layered Wedding Programs - How long did you cut the Ribbons for your Program? I'm trying to see how many rolls I need for this task ~ I want to make 130 Programs.

Thanks ladies!!!

Re: Tiffyb's Blog

Thanks a million T. How are you? I guess I'm being picky, but I want every detail of this wedding to be so perfect. I know the guests will not notice, but oh, what a great walking advertisement my wedding will be for my business.

BTW - I was planning on using Satin Edge Organza Ribbons. What do you think? Or should I use just Real Satin Ribbons (They have a nice shiny look to them too)?

Re: Tiffyb's Blog

Oh, another thing Diva T., I've had a better look at the ribbons for the programs, I think I will use Double Face Satin Ribbons because they're shiny on both sides and I will buy them in Rosy Mauve (to duplicate the look of Dusty Rose) and in Wine ( to duplicate the Merlot look). My other question to you is, what size did you use. They gave me a choice of 1 1/2" wide, 2 1/4" wide and 3" wide and I don't know which to order.

Thanks a million Diva!!!

Re: Tiffyb's Blog

Honestly ...I didn't measure the size either, I bought the ribbon that fit the hole that I punched. I had 3 colors ...and all three ribbon were different styles ...and we liked the way it looked like that :)

Re: Tiffyb's Blog

Hey Ginoue. The green ribbons on my programs are actually double face satin ribbon, 7/8" thick. I think I measured them at 18" long, but I will double check and make sure I'm not wrong about that. I purchased 100 yards of ribbon for the 200 programs that I was planning to make. I actually only ended up making about 180 or so programs, and I still have plenty of ribbon left over. I think you can get away with cutting the ribbon a few inches shorter, just eye it and then measure how long each piece of ribbon should be. My girls and I were finishing up my programs tonight, and I tell you, tying the bows is such a pain!!

So yes Soon, everything is on schedule, just finishing up some small details of course, but other than that, I am doing just great. Re: Tiffyb's Blog

Teresa, it's cheaper to buy the cardstock, print your menu cards and then have them cut.

Or you may choose to go to the route of having them pre-cut, but the fee may be more than you'd wish to pay. You will find Astrobrights cover stocks at any Office Depot, Office Max or Staples, but get the weight between 86# and 105# for the Menu card. As far as sizing goes, if you have Microsoft Office installed on your PC, all you have to do is go to Microsoft Publisher, then go to "File" "Page Setup" click custom and then play around with whatever size you want to then, it will tell you how many you could get per page, depending on the paper size that you use.

Hope that was helpful to you and oh, if your budget is a bit flexible, you might want to check out www.anchorpaper.com, click online express on the upper right hand corner, then click paper and you will see a list of all sorts of paper. Then you could click Virtual Swatch to see what colors they come into. If you choose to order paper from them, be sure to check the pricing for "Cover". That's where I've ordered all my papers for my Pocketfold for my Invitations, Invitation backing, etc.... And depends on the size you order, for a fee, they will cut your paper for you to your specified size and they will send you all the scrap paper if you ask for them. Trust me Diva, ask because with the scraps of my paper, I will be able to make my menu cards, my programs, my place cards, and other things.

Hope you find this helpful.
