I just got married at Riu ocho rios. The hotel is great the staff is great you will enjoy yourself if you have not already been.

We used www.sungoldphoto.com for ourphotographer you can see our photo slide show here

Wedding pictures www.pictage.com - Last Durrant - Event Date June 2007

However depending on your wedding package you may or may not be required to use the hotel photographer. Free and classics weddings he must be booked 30days in advance, royal and caprice weddings he is included. Riu has a standing policy that staes no outside photographers are allowed for weddings. However we used his other services and he "overlooked" the presences of our photographers, D&P also booked into the hotel as guests.

When are you looking to book your wedding date for?

Suggestion; Have a family member or close friend (not your MOH) that knows how to keep a secret work with you and the wedding planner Chandlyn.

Chandlyn has an assistant named Nikki and they are great, but the little extras that make the wedding day pop will have to be handled by someone else.

Suggestion when it comes to Chandlyn build a relationship with her. Don't just email her about your wedding and what you want. Send detailed emails to her asking very specific questions (it can take up to a week to get a response sometimes she is very busy) her anwsers will be more precise. I have pictures that she sent me of bouquets and decorations I can send them to you, send me your email via a note and I get them to you.

Do not try and send any favors or welcome bag contents or wedding accessories down there. They will get stuck in customs. Split them up among those traveling with you as CARRY ON LUGGAGE (no liquids). Make sure the people are arriving within two days of the wedding so that you can have everything ready before the day before the wedding.

If you have more than 60 guests you will need to reserve reception space (plantation resturant) 500 for 2 hours 1000 for 4 fours, also a dj and centerpieces. This is the only place that you can have a "traditional" reception. The location is shaped like an "L" so Chandlyn will advise on set up for tables DJ and the like

If you have under 60 you can have a reception dinner at the Mammee Bay restaurant, they can and most likely will use the flowers from your ceremony vacation as the centerpieces for the tables.

Be sure to ask for a netting to be placed over cake the bugs are crazy.

Get there at least three days before, that gives you time to relax and take care of business.

Umm I can't think of anything else. You can send me an email and we can discuss this further if you would like.

Introducng the new Mrs. Durrant!!!

Thank you for your info. I'm glad that we were able to connect with each other. I heard Chadlyn is very hard to get in touch with. So I will be e-mailing you with all of my questions for a little insight. You have already given me info that I know will be useful. I am taking notes ...... Talk with you later.
