Isn't it just fabulous...it is one of those old songs that kinda sticks with me...I sang it to a wedding once and tried to sing it for my first husband at our wedding but I just got overwhelmed and one of the other ladies in my choir had to finish it. This song just chokes you up....my choir director said to me..."no no, you can't sing this song"...I just could not stop crying during practice and when it was time to sing it...the words and meaning are so deep...it really gets to you.

I agree. I love when brides/grooms can serenade their mates. However; I know me and I would just be bawling!!!!!!!!!!!! I sang at a friend's wedding a tears just flowed. Luckily it did not get to the oint where my voice cracked. ( smile)

I sing soprano too! When I was younger I sang in a gospel group. We were going to be the gospel version of EnVogue.However; the E Hollywood sory ends with me singing in the choir and the Praise Team at church.

The song is titled For Always by CeCe Winans. I absolutely love this song too and really want to use it during my ceremony but don't know how because I have others that I want to use. Can this song be used for the bridal party entrance because that's the only place I don't have a song in yet. My entrance song is "The One He Kept For Me" by Maurette Brown Clark, song after the prayer "23rd Pslam, unity candle song "Finally I by Daryl Coley. Well I know I'm missing some more but this is what I have so far. How many songs are actually appropriate for the ceremony? And do you all have any suggestions for my girls and guys to come in on? There is a song by Anointed called " God Is All Around Us" which is a beautiful song for your bridal party to enter on.Listen to it.My first wedding had the same theme and I used all christian musica and that was the song that was used for the bridal party.

You are correct! This is a gospel artist and this is a spiritual love song. I think it would still be appropriate for you to use for your wedding. It's a beautiful song that can go both ways. A classic wedding song. I say use it!

I agree with PB&J! Askalot, I have the CD and on the back of CD case right next to the title "I Promise" in parenthesis are the words (Wedding Song). I really think CeCe and K.Thomas (the lyricist) definitely intended for this song to be used in a wedding.
