I am new to the site and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on the site because the information here has been truly helpful! I have learned so much from just reading the posts. As a first time bride the whole process has been overwhelming but it's nice to know there are other people out there going thru what I am. Once again thank you!

You are getting married one week after my birthday! A January wedding, how wonderful. Although I have been buying things all along, I just booked my wedding and ceremony site two months ago and I'm getting married in November.

What is the weather like in Alabama in Jan? Are you going to have a snowy wedding or is it still hot down there?
Each One Teach One!
RHONY IS A CAPRICORN! Maybe thats why I love her so much?

The weather in Alabama can get cold but it really isn't that bad...you can actually go without a coat all winter and just wear sweaters. I actually hope we get a little snow. I'm originally from new york and as a child I dreamed on a winter wedding with pictures in central park...So I always knew I would get married in the winter. My mother however is still not sold on the date...she thinks Spring is the time for weddings.

I loooooooove winter time, could be because I was born in winter. what are your colors and do you have a theme or are you going to kinda do like a winter wonderland style wedding?

You're welcome, and welcome to the sistahood! I'm in Brox NY, and you can have my snowy Jan., I'd take the southern winter temps. any time. Rosetta has some excellent article on here to help you along the way, the women here a whole lot of combined knowledge, and Jrmcdoug (Joanne) is not to far from you, I'm sure she'll have lot of tips.

You ladies can have you snowy winter wedding all to your self.I will pass on the cold weather, especially since I'm anemic.I was born in Texas and spent half of my life there. As a kid I loved the snow but it seemed to last forever, and after it gets solid its no more fun. I will stick to a hot California wedding anyday.
I am originally from NY and I love the cold weather. I am doing a candlelight theme with lots of candles, ivory and gold balloons and flowers. My dress is light gold and my colors are wine, bronze and light gold...my mom thinks that's weird but I like it

I want a winter wedding why it just something about a winter wedding I fell in love with the idea. My mom knows by now and she is just waiting to see what I am going to come up with. Jan is good month to get married in. I read somewhere that it is cheaper also to get married in Jan. Oh yeah I am from Mobile. You should get some snow up there where you are at. Good luck!!!!!!!!

I think it is cheaper to get amrried in January through March becasue wedding season starts in April. Aril through August you best believe you will pay top prives for EVERYTHING wedding related.Everybody wants Spring and Summer wedding s venues set their prices to that. I also read that if you get married on a week day instead of a weekend it will be considerably less in cost too. Just something to think about.
