ITS OFFICIAL!

Hey there Future! I think the way you guys came up with your date is really cool! I wanted to get married this year (2006)because my fiance and I have such a long history together (we've been re-united since 12/04), but we have known each other for approx 20 years and have a 16 year old daughter together. My fiance teaches Marching band and travels a lot. I came up with November because Marching band is not in session and we had enough time to save some money. Basically, that's how it happened for us.

For the longest we didnt have a date.FH proposed in September and we didnt have a date until January. I was watch Who's Wedding Is It Anyway? and I had a idea from looking at the set-up of the wedding that as on. I called FH in the living room and asked him to set a date. He originally wanted to have it around his birthday (July 18-date to be July 14 or 21) but I suggested around our anniversary. That was a hard decision because we have 2 different anniversaries.FH anniversary is December 24 because thats when I officially said I would be his girl friend. My anniversary is March 21 because thats the day we first met face to face (after talking on the phone for 5 years). After about an hour we decide not to get married in the cold winter or too hot summer and chose March 24 2007. Its the weekend right after our 3 year anniversary.I really think it would be romantic to marry on the day we met but since thats on a Wednesday, the Saturday after would work just as well.

Congrats on coming up with your date. We both have kids in school, so we definitely wanted to wait until they were out for the summer. June 9, 2007 seemed to be the perfect date. It also gives us more time to look for a house and pay for the wedding without eating noodles for the first year of marriage.

lol Brown you are too much, Gyrl Eat yo noodles....I remember those days. When FH and I first moved into our apartment thats what we ate for about 3 months. As a matter of fact I been here a year and a half and I still have a bag of noodles under my cabinet.

Congrats Future! That was certainly a unique way to come up with a date.

The way me and FH (really me) came up with our date is this.

1) Our official dating anniversary is 6/12/98 - however, we wanted to have dates (dating & marriage) not that close together.
2) I LOOOOOOOOOVE the fall weather - so I wanted it during this season
3) My parents have been married now for 37 years (THEY GOT MARRIED ON MY MOTHER'S BIRTHDAY)

I figured, why not get married on my birthday or close to it? Being that my birthday is September 13th, we decided to base our date around it. 2006 was too close, so we chose 2007 - Which will also be my 30th birthday weekend!!!! We are going to party hard!!! lol

At first our date was 5/5/07 (two years to the day he proposted), then we considered two things: the HOT weather in May & the looooong engagement. FH said 'why are we waiting so long???'. I said 'good question'. Then we bumped it up six months sooner because the weather will be great in December & it's not hurricane season. So our date is now 12/2/06.

that would be a mess for sure.That college food aint no joke.instead of gaining the freshmane 15 I lost the freshman 15 because I ate so much noodles.I think for 2 years all I ate was noodles,EasyMac and pizza everyday.

Hey ladies ,
We haven't officially set a date. We are looking at 26 Jan 2008, it will be two days before our official 5 year anniversary. He want say yes or no, he says that we will decide in Jan this way we can tell everyone together. I guess.....Congratulation that was a neat way to decide.

I will be home in September for two weeks. Then I am back here until December. My honey will be home in Jan for two weeks. That is when we will finalize the date and colors adn tell everyone. Then he will be in Texas in July. Back to Germany in August/September. So it is going to be hard to plan. He wants to do this together, he has alot great ideas. I think he is more excited than me. I am basically collecting ideas for him and when we see each other agin we can sort of pick things and so forth.

Now the event is actually more tangible instead of the "in the air' feeling.

Shea when you and your honey are apart from each other, the sistahood will be here for you to help you with those planning details that can be a little overwhelming at times.

The original date was supposed to closed to the anniversary of when we started dating. Because of the budget we had to find another date so we decided on August 26, 2006, which is 1 month and 2 days from my birthday and my God mothers birthday.Bold TextBold Text

Wow Future! My FH is a Capricorn. And I love him dearly! Virgos and Caps make good combos (friendship or anything else). :-)

My fiance and I are the opposite of you guys. I am a Capricorn and he is a Virgo! And yes Virgos and Caps make EXCELLENT combos. So true Askalot!

girl bee, YES! Now if only I can get some colors together. I'm telling you, I am going to plan like crazy for the next 12 months and put together a report. Approximately 2yrs from the date, I am going to have a brunch with those that I wish to have in my bridal party and give them my report on what their dresses are, cost, when the wedding is, where the wedding is, what time and the time frame they need to get their dresses.

Reading the attendant horror stories on this site, I gotta be prepared.

Yes you gotta be prepared FUTURE. I was prepared and those ladies just missed the point or something I don't know. Hopefully you guys will have better luck than what I'm having with my crew.
