Hi ladies, at what point does everything start to flow when it comes to planning your wedding? After picking everyone for the wedding party I found out my two sisters 12 and 13 wanted to be in the wedding. They don't live with my mom so I didn't know if they would be able to come that is why I didn't add them in the begining. Once I found out they wanted to be in it, I decided to add them in the processional they will come down after the parents. Well my mom calls me today she said my sister called her and asked her to ask me to please put them in the wedding. I'm like ok they are in the wedding. I have three BM and 1 MOH and 2 JBM so I'm not sure where to put them. I was thinking of a way to make the wedding really different which we all try to do. Help Please.......

I'm having my 4 JBM come in first followed by my 4 BM and then my 2 MOH. Then my praise dancer will dance. Then will be my RB, FG and then my dad and I.
Whatever you decide, it will all come together. I can't wait to hear what other ideas are on the site.

I think that your sisters wanting to be "in the wedding" is their way of saying they want a role. Maybe you can have them read a something (scripture, poem, etc) or they can be ushers or something.
Great idea Seprbride! There are more active roles than just walking down the aisle. There are directors, ushers, a hostess, a crier ( rings a bell and announces thet the bride is coming before they play the bridal march), etc. Use your imagination or ask what they would like to do.

Oooh Rosie, I like the name director. Please post more titles. :-)
I went to a wedding where the bride used two of her female cousins as ushers. That was the first time I saw female ushers in a wedding.
Thanks for the post KMED, I was wondering the same thing. I want my brother in the wedding but FH has all of his groomsmen picked out. I was thinking about asking him to walk me down the aisle because we are like best friends but I don't want my father or stepfather to be upset. Then how do I choose between the "fathers"? I am not ready to tackle that yet.
How about this DW? Have your bio-father walk you down the aisle (that is if you have a good relationship with him) and have your brother and step-father pull out the aisle runner for you. Or when the pastor says "Who giveth this woman to this man?" Have all 3 of them stand and say "WE DO".
Or you can have 1 walk you halfway and the other at the halway point to take you to the end. this way you symbolize the roles they have played in your life. 1 may have started you off and the other came midway to help you become the wonderful person you now are.

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME; ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD. WHEN IN DOUBT, PRAY
Thanks ladies for your posts. This website is like family. You guys are always here for each other. DWBRIDE I only have one brother so i wanted him play a major role in my wedding. So I will have him get me out of the limo and walk me down the stairs to the aisle and hand me over to my dad. My dad was very pleased that I decided to do that. My sisters don't look at being a host or usher as being part of the wedding. They look at that as helping with the wedding. You know how kids can be. So I will probably just have them be part of the processional. Plus it's probably too late to get a JBM dress. I can't believe that the companies charge the same amount for JBM as they do for BM. I paid 150.00 each for my JBM dresses and they are only 8 and 9. Has anyone heard or seen different?
You ladies are awesome with the ideas!

I see female ushers all the time! KMED, you could even have them carry lit Pillar Candle That matches your theme or Unity Candle Set down the aisle or lanterns to light your way to your husbands heart...

Thank you all for the advice on including my brother. I think I may have him and my stepfather pull out the runner, then wait as my bio-dad walks me down the aisle. My bio-dad and step father can say "we do", then they can all be seated. Thanks Ladies!!! I had no idea how I was going to do that one!
Rosie~ Those candles are beautiful!!!
I was having the same dilemma, but I will have my biological dad walk me down the aisle and let my mom and step dad go down the aisle together before the bridal party enters. My real dad's girlfriend is going to be seated at the front VIP with the rest of my family so she isn't feeling left out or left behind. The way my dress is designed it would be kind of difficult to have both walk me down. Plus we're not using an aisle runner.
