Initially, FH was going to wear ivory but the tux place convinced me to have him wear black. He said my gown will drown against his ivory tux. Then he showed me a couple a pictures from weddings and I understood what he meant.
Sooooooo, for the ceremony, he'll be wearing black tux with ivory vest and for the reception, he's changing into a different, but I don't know which color yet.
Askalot, I didn't think about it like that. I wanted FH to wear an ivory tux to go along with my ivory gown, but now, I think he should wear black (that was what he wanted anyway). Since we want to have a destination wedding, we may not have any attendants (we will if the price is right).
FH: Black tux, ivory vest, ivory shirt, ivory tie.
Groomsmen: black tux sage green vests, ivory shirts, sage ties (not bowtie, regular ties and I hope FH shows them how to tie a double winsor knot like he wears to work)
Ringbearers: same tux as groomsmen. Sooooooo cute! I just want to eat my ring bearers up for dinner.
I heard that FH's cousin who is also in one of my classes is wearing a white suit with a cane! LOL! He's not in the wedding either and will blend in with the chairs outside in a loud white suit, but inside he'll look like a snowman. I'm not really trippin about him wearing white per se because I'm not wearing white, but I was like, "Can't he wear an ivory suit and actually match somebody?" Dang! Lord help...
We are still working out the Mens attire. All FH insists upon is that he wears an ascot, and I'm all for it...the are regal, elegant, and look good on almost anyone. I had a HORRIBLE experience at MrTux...ugggh, made me want to smack the woman working there. She just KEPT asking what color my dress was and that she needed to know...I had made it VERY clear that my dress was irrelevant to the discussion...and for her to stop asking me in front of FH. (FH has no idea that my dress is champagne) I swear some people are thick!

What a crazy woman! I wonder if she was just being nosy aside from trying push you into different styles based on your dress. I've seen a dress in champagne by Reem and it was gorgeous. The woman had chocolate colored skin and it looked fab on her.
FH knows the style name and designer of my dress as well as the color. He doesn't know what it looks like at all, but so many people ask him about my dress at his job that he has all the info memorized.
FH is wearing an ivory tux w/red vest and red ascot. My gown is red and white so we won't drown each other out. The spark of red makes for great pics.
GM are wearing same tux as FH in black w/ silver vest and red ascot. Sounds interesting but looks absolutly fab. I think because the vest has bits of black in the silver. Makes the red pop along w/silver. very elegant looking.
My little man, who is our ring bearer, will be a duplicate of FH.
And my oldest biological son, who is giving me away, is wearing black tux like the guys but red vest and red ascot like Groom. It sounds like a lot but we had them all together during fitting so I cld see how it blended, they were the finest group of black men I have ever seen. Okay, I know I'm a bit biased.

Plat, I didn't think of it either. I was DEAD set on him wearing a tux to match me. He was going with it, but really wanted to wear black. So, he lucked up. You really have to see a picture to know exactly what he was saying. And the man was on point. I want to SHINE that day! :-)

My hubby wore a black Tommy Hilfiger tux, with a white silk tie & vest. The GMs wore a black Tommy Hilfiger tux, with a red silk tie & matching vest. He wanted to wear the tux with the red accents, but I said "do you want to look like a groomsman? My dress is white, so I want you to stand out, like me." When I showed him magazine ads (few months before he reserved his tux), I said "Can you tell who's the groom from this photo?". Then all of a sudden it started to make sense to him at the tux shop...Of course somehow I made it seem like he thought of it all on his own. :-D
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.
