Where were you one year ago....

What were you all doing one year ago? Did you know then, that you would be where you are now? Think back...today is May 2, 2007, what happened for you about this time (April/May of 2006)? As time goes by, maybe June/July or later was a more impactful time for you....

For me, on May 1, 2006 (Our 7-year anniversary), my DH asked me to marry him. Even then in May, we thought we'd be getting married sometime in 2008. It wasn't until late June, early July that we'd decided to push our wedding up to May 2007, and then, in August, we finally decided to get married in March 2007 because the dates in May were booked. Yesterday we celebrated our 8th anniversary of being together, even though our NEW anniversary is March 3, 2007.

What about you?

Re: Where were you one year ago....

Wow!! What a deep question?

I was working in a position that I loved with a great manager and coworkers. For the first time in my professional career I looked forward to going to work.

I was also planning a trip to JA with my FH and our children to attend his paternal grandmothers funeral anniversary.

I was not thinking of marriage, I knew it was a vacation I needed.

We were working on things with us. So marriage was the last thing on our minds.

But everything happens for a reason.

Awesome question Bumble. I was planning my wedding and going crazy in the process! We had just moved into our apartment. Now we are ready to move because we have out grown it! We were also planning a small celebration for my daughter who was turning 16 in June. I was also working for two miserable supervisors who thank God have been removed from me!

A year ago I wouldn't have imagined that I could be as happy as I am now. I am so grateful to God for what He has done in my life!

MsTajsia, its amazing how much can change in the span of a few months...If I think back about 6 months before I had gotten engaged, me and my then boyfriend were "seperated" for the first time in 6 years. I had absolutely just got tired of him and had given up, and was seperating myself from him so I could go ahead and eventually cut all ties....so yes, everything happens for a reason....
Thanks for sharing girls!

It IS amazing how much can change in a year. I really needed to think about that. I have been really down about having to defer some goals of mine until '08.

But you know what... a year can really fly.
It's good to put things into perspective sometimes.
Really...thanks ladies.

Thanks for sharing that MsBoston. sometimes we have to delay our dreams but it surely doesn't mean that we have to give them up. Rhony is so right:)

One year ago...My DH & I were engaged for a year and the wedding services' (site, DJ, photography, food, etc.) deposits had been paid. Plus, I had my wedding dress hanging on the wall. We were also condo/townhouse shopping & extremely stressed because we couldn't mutually agree on any of the propeties we saw. (Actually, it was all me.)

I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

Re: Where were you one year ago....

Last year this time I was here on this DB with you all planning a wedding to a man I am no longer in a relationship with. I was unsure and questioning things all the time about whether or not he really loved me enough to want to do this thing, he didn't. We just weren't meant to be together. I learned whatever lesson I was supposed to learn from him and we've since moved on. One of the greatest things of that experience I have found is meeting you ladies. I have so much love in my heart for all of you ladies and have thought of you often. I think of your wedding days and wish I could have been there to see them happen.

Also, I am now in a relationship with an extraordinary man who absolutely loves me and there is no doubt in my mind that he is the one. He is so genuine and kind. There is nothing inauthentic about him. He is affectionate, considerate and loving. He always puts my feelings before all others. He is the personification of everything I have ever put out into the Universe that I wanted in a man. I think we compliment each other very well. He's good for me. I love him so much. I am so thankful that God saw fit to place this man in my life at this time.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda

MS LEE! We've missed you. When I saw your name on the last post, I was so happy since you had the best sense of humor and were always so supportive to all of us. Congratulations on finding the path back to love.

I have missed all of you too! I'm glad to be back. One of the great things about this whole deal is that I don't have to change my s/n in this group. lol. because my new man is a Lee, too. lol.

I'm glad all of you ladies are doing well and are happy and healthy.

I can't believe you're almost at the 1-year mark Tonya!....I remember when Askalot had like a year, now she barely has 5 months....I remember when I was changing my date, so at first my ticker was like 24 months, then 10 months....it was crazy! Look at Rhony, she is 6 months out at the halfway mark....

I think this reflection is definitely a lesson in cherishing each day....no matter how hectic it is....
