Re: Engagement Party Games

Hi,

Taboo is definitely a crowd pleaser and people can play in small groups. I would also consider having playing cards on hand, maybe a "bounce house" to keep the kids entertained (and out of the way), and a game or two that you might find my searching the internet for "engagement party" games.

You probably want people to just relax and enjoy themselves, so you might not want to go overboard with too many "organized" games. So whatever you decide, people will be happy just eating and fellowshipping with the newly-engaged graduates. Congrats and God Bless!!!

Wonderful advice Keithsbride. Couldn't say better myself. I'm partial to the bounce house myself and for the adults, keep the games to a minimum. Have fun and congrats to you and your FH upon your graduation.

Re: Engagement Party Games

Thanks keithsbride & Ginoue!

I agree with only having a few games on hand, I just wanted to make sure I picked up the ones that where crowd favorites. I don't remember playing taboo but that's the game that's come up the most from me asking around.

However, I did order a double dutch rope from ebay so that should be a fun activity for the bbq. It came in the mail today and it is sweet! I didn't actually seek out to buy one but when I saw it, it brought back so much memories.

Anyways, thanks for your input. I'll be around much more once these next two weeks are over. (boo to Finals!!!)

I love Taboo. I think that is a good choice. They also have Family Feud on DVD that is fun.

Re: Engagement Party Games

Try abbee.com....I did a friend's bridal shower last month and found lots of games...

My favorite is the "Whats in your purse" game with women...You can put it together and let the men do "whats in your wallets/pockets"

We assigned the lowest points to simple common items like pens, cell phone, and less than 4 credit or debit cards, and more points to the more uncommon items like condoms, birthcontrol, more than 5 dollars in change....You can assign a bonus point amount to the most unique items and have the group vote which one is most unique....The funny ones we had were a pair of knee-highs, tanning eye cover, a silver fork, 15 credit cards, and someone had like 10 dollars in just change in her humongous purse! They voted on the knee-highs.....

For men you can have them empty their pockets or wallets...assign points for so many keys (less than 5, 6-11, 10-15)...how many credit cards, how old their wallet is...people have fun because they don't realize how much stuff they have packed in there!
