Another question -- My wedding and reception are going to be at the same location. Can someone tell me the order a wedding/reception usually follows? So far I have the following, but I'm not sure this is right:
Procession (Forever - R Kelley)
Wedding (vows, etc.)
Recession (need an upbeat song)
Introduction (Best of my Love) -- I'd like to immediately go into the first day on this song -- hopefully I will know how to step by next year.
meal
toast
cake cutting
music
Bouquet toss
I want my FH to dance with his mom -- where would that fit in? Am I missing anything??

HERE WE SAY YOUR DAY YOUR WAY.
But if you want to follow what some of the experts say. It would depend on the time of your reception. If it is a late reception have your toasts and cake cutting before your meal.
Bouquet toss usually follows dinner, have a little bit of dancing before and after dinner that way those people that have to dash after dinner will get to get thier groove on with everyone else.
If its an early reception then your order seems fine.
Introducng the new Mrs. Durrant!!!
I'm BUMPING this because it seemed to have gotten lost with all the posts...
You can do the mom/son, father/daughter, etc dance after the wife/groom dance....
If you have a big wedding party...have them either keep it to one minute each for the toast, or just let the Best man/ MOH, etc do speeches/toast....OR you can have the Bridal Party toast at the rehearsal dinner, and just let best man, MOH, (maybe parents and siblings) do a toast....Because the planned program parts can get lengthy, you have to estabilsh some limits.....Oh yeah, and for the tosses, you may want to have the DJ stipulate 18 and over only..we forgot to do this and I was not going to have my 24 year old male friend put a garter on my 14-year old cousin's leg! Proper planning now will help it out....Ladies....feedback please!
