Did any of you ladies have a planning journal? If so, what did it consist of?
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda
I HAVE ONE! It has everything you can think of involved in the wedding planning process. I bought a thick 3 ring binder and a few packs of dividers and got to labeling. I have a section for bakery, florist, ideas, bridesmaids, groomsmen, decorations, church info, marriage license, reception info, to do/ timelines, calenders and much much more.We will have to get together so I can show you my stuff....
You know, I thought you meant journal like a diary because I'm keeping one. It's been a good way for me to vent my frustrations, and I'm excited that I'll be able to read and remember all of the little things that happened. Anyway, I did the same thing and purchased a binder. I even have page protectors that I put the contracts in. But before I had contracts or even vendors, I would find pictures of flowers, cakes, decorations, etc. and put them inside so I could show potential vendors what I wanted. It will save you so much time and headache to have everything in one place.
I love them too. I do suggest a smaller wedding journal that can fit in your purse so you can jot things down as you go. one that holds your personal thoughts and ideas as well as wedding budgets and checklists.
I really need to get one because I'm the most unorganized person out there. Rosetta the small one that you showed is there a place to keep contracts and stuff.
For those of you who dont have a wedding planner or wedding journal J.C.PENNY gives you a free one if you register with them....I have to go pick mines up...
I just bought the one that Rosie just gave the link for. I hadn't thought about buying one until I saw this post. I am looking forward to getting it so I can start writing in it.

I have about 3 different notebooks that I keep my notes in. One in the car, one at my job and one at home. Then, I have a wedding planner that I got from (Bossie what's the name of that store?). It has sleeves for my contracts, things I print out, and my notes, etc. Before I bought one, I made my own book (Binder with different sections with protective sleeves). You definately need one because you can't remember everything! I know sometimes I have dreams and I wake up and jot down what I wanted from my dream.
I do that too ASKALOT! FH thinks I'm crazy cuz I be tryna write stuff in the dark..lol. When a thought hits you just have to grab the nearest thing and write it down,I even used a check once..lol.
THat is too funny Allies. Sometimes I'll be in my car driving and a song will come on (old school) that I forgot about. I'll be like "oooooooooooooooh, I have to have that played at the reception". I usually try not to drive and write at the same time (lol), so I'll grab my cell phone and voice record the song. Sometimes, I'll do some crazy stuff.
You gotta do what you gotta do.....You may never have the same thought the same way again! I use any and everything for my ideas, but I've always been that way. I had to ask my nepheew's teacher for his homework back one time becasue I was using it to write on but I couldnt find the actual paper I wrote on, so I got the home work and since I write hard I was able to take a pencil and rub it over the page and it showed what I wrote...
I registrated at Jcpenney today and got a beatiful and very helpful wedding planning journal for free. I think anyone that looking for a journal should pick one up.
I have one too but I haven't written much in it. I am going to buy a bigger one because our date is in 2 1/2 years and it is a destination wedding, I think I will have a lot to write in it! But I use mine as a diary. I do have a planning book too but I don't know how much I will use it.
