Is there anyone here that is having one? Or do you know someone that is?
We all seem to be doing a number of DYI projects and saving money other ways. Is there anyone who is paying for it all to be done? the only hting you are doing is writing checks?

Introducng the new Mrs. Durrant!!!
Oh to dream the impossible dream! I wish!
Platinum Wedding!!! Yeah, more like platinum colored dresses with a few platinum blondes...LOL That's the closest I've ever been to one.
"I'm a work in progress, God is not through me yet"
I am not having a platinum wedding, not even close, however I am a writing checks kind of girl. I have done absolutely nothing myself. No diy projects unfortunately. Not because I have it like that, just because I am really busy to it, and dont have alot of reliable people.

In my head, it's a platinum wedding! lol But, no, I'm not spending $100K + for my wedding - if that's what constitutes a platinum wedding. Some of those weddings are just a little too overboard for me. Some things look very tacky. (I'm talking about from the shows that I've seen).
I agree and some of those dresses they pay $4500-$5000 for and they are U G L Y...
I know what you are talking about soon2b. The place where i am having my ceremony and reception cost the same as one of the dresses some of those brides are wearing. Hell, I think the total cost of my wedding may be less then their dresses!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I do plan on a lot of diy projects to keep the cost down.
mine too! LOL and even if I COULD afford a "Platinum" wedding-I still think I would still have alot of diy... :)

Im with you on that. A lot of it I think they do just to be able to say on camera that they "spent a lot of money" I watch that show every week and I havent seen anything yet that makes me even with I could do what they are doing or spend what they spend.
I plan to keep on going to Michaels to get my DIY project materials...and ebay for discounted good..LMAO

I spent 10,000.00 on my wedding. I think it was platinium simply because it went flawlessly. You can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, and still have a mess on you hands....now when that happens, who really can see how much the wedding cost then, if the wedding was still a disaster? So Like Askalot said....mine is platinum (in my mind-lol)!
But still, if you can afford $25,000, $50,000, $100,000 plus, why not spend it? I think that one young lady on here who had her wedding in Jamaicia spent $100,000 plus....I could be mistaken though....however, she said it went alright.....

I guess with a mortgage, 2 kids, and a student loan in repayment, I can't justify to myself spending that much! That's $25k+ of equity in my home, in the college fund, or student loans paid off!
Now, will it look like a $25K+ wedding? But of course!

Tell 'em girl!
Amen to THAT!

I agree, Askalot! I'm content with having an affordable but tasteful event. I don't mind doing some diy projects. Actualy, it's kind of fun. I saw a show where they spent over $50,000 on just the food and the cake was $10,000. WTH???
Mine will be a Platinum Wedding because "Platinumstyle" is the bride.Lol.
Born Blessed!
