As with feet, hair comes in different textures and lengths. So unless all your bridesmaids have long hair or weaves an updo which doesn't require gel might not even be feasible.
Maybe you should meanwhile arrange for everybody to trial your suggested hairstyle to see if they can carry it off failing which you might have to let them do their hair differently according to what suit them.
I agree with Dee. Look at the pics of sensationablyhappy's attendants. They all had different hairstyles, and they looked beautiful. Everything doesn't have to be exactly the same. It looks really nice when you mix it up a bit.
I didn't even think about how they were wearing their hair ...to the point where they asked me how was I wearing mine, and went off that a little. I wanted them comfortable, we all are Diva's in our own mind. I didn't want to tell them to get something that I know looks good on me for them to wear.
If you are a stickler on precision ...let them know that, and hopefully they are comfortable with the style you choose for them.

I was thinking about the decor for my cocktail hour.....I will have about 10 high tables in the lobby area of my venue. I need some help with the overall of look and feel. I dont want any dramatic centerpeices just something that will be settled and GLAM-LUXE using my vibrant colors.
Because once the cocktail hour is over they will go into the ballroom where the real magic happens..lol!!!!
I would just do something simple like a candles. Either candle holders in your wedding colors or clear glass holders with colored candles. You can even do a single flower in a bud vase. You don't really need much more than that for the bleeptail hour.

Sweet P, honestly, it's difficult for me to picture the steel grey mixed with such bright warm colors. The steel grey is kind of silver in tone. I think a warm gold would be a better fit if you go there. Otherwise, I would just stick with the primary colors. That's just my opinion. What does your wedding coordinator say?

ViPrincess, you are so right about that. I considered renting my tall centerpieces thinking I would pay less than what the venue charged, but was I suprised. It was cheaper to just buy them one by one. So I just opted to have them included in the venue package.

I don't know who's throwing it for you but my MOH found alot of nice decorations on orientaltrading.com. Yesterday I was so overwhelmed because the wedding is around the corner and so is yours. I'm feeling the butterflies as well. It seems like these little details are just as hard as finding the major vendors. I have a wedding planner as well but I am so hands on I've barely let her do her job. I'm beginning to step back a little and let her do her job. It's just that no one can see your vision like you. I am merging a family as well. I have a 10 year old daughter and we've always lived alone. I am so nervous about it, so I've just prayed that it works for the best. When I saw your cake and dress, I said this girl jas my kind of taste. I too chose an over the top sketch and my groom is getting his in the shape of a truck with rims. We are both all about over the top. And I went to the place where you got your dress from, my wedding is five minutes from there(small world). I wish you all the best of luck and as you think of last minute things drop me a line. Those things might have slipped my mind and I'll do the same. Like today I remembered that my venue has alot of twists and turns so I need to order directions signs. I also found these on oriental trading. Maybe you need them too. Oh and I love the color choices. I don't know if you are doing the candy buffet but I have a picture I can send to you if you are. It has all your wedding colors in it. We talked again and she totally understood where I was coming from. I even came to the conclusion that we could order her another dress in a diffrent style but she declined and we are still close. I basically didnt want to hurt her feelings are our relationship to be strained because of the situation... but so far everything is good and I am helping her sister plan her baby shower.

Hey Sweet P, I just looked at your website and it's great. We are having similar bridal shower themes. Mine is tropical. I don't know who's throwing it for you but my MOH found alot of nice decorations on orientaltrading.com. Yesterday I was so overwhelmed because the wedding is around the corner and so is yours. I'm feeling the butterflies as well. It seems like these little details are just as hard as finding the major vendors. I have a wedding planner as well but I am so hands on I've barely let her do her job. I'm beginning to step back a little and let her do her job. It's just that no one can see your vision like you. I am merging a family as well. I have a 10 year old daughter and we've always lived alone. I am so nervous about it, so I've just prayed that it works for the best. When I saw your cake and dress, I said this girl jas my kind of taste. I too chose an over the top sketch and my groom is getting his in the shape of a truck with rims. We are both all about over the top. And I went to the place where you got your dress from, my wedding is five minutes from there(small world). I wish you all the best of luck and as you think of last minute things drop me a line. Those things might have slipped my mind and I'll do the same. Like today I remembered that my venue has alot of twists and turns so I need to order directions signs. I also found these on oriental trading. Maybe you need them too. Oh and I love the color choices. I don't know if you are doing the candy buffet but I have a picture I can send to you if you are. It has all your wedding colors in it. Since I have a daughter I wanted to incorporate something fun for her and her friends. I went to Ross and Marshall's to get the jars, but your wedding planner may have some.
