Classy, who paid for DJ? You know what, that question is REALLY irrelevant. Who the F is she to TELL you what will be played at YOUR reception? You can't let her get that. Tell her if she wants a wedding with no rap, then for her to have her own. I'm sorry, but this would not be me. The coordinator can give suggestions, yes, but to outright say what WILL/ WILL NOT be done at your wedding is downright sad. Classy, you call her and tell her whatever music you want played, will be played. This is YOU AND FH's wedding, not hers. She's not paying for this wedding. You call the shots, NOT HER!

WOW Classy, I am SO sorry you are going through all of this, it always seem like right before the wedding everything feels like it's going wrong. Have you decided what you are going to do about your mother's dress? I know there are many deptmartment stores you can go to and get dresses off the rack. It may not be the one she wants but it's coming down to the wire right now. You go to places like Belk's, Dilliards, Group USA, they sell formal dresses that you might be able to find something even better for your mother to wear. What color did your MOH dress come in? Is it a TOTALLY different color or is it not the shade you thought it would be in? As for the people inviting themselves to the wedding, I'm having to deal with that now, and it started stressing me a little, but now I'm like whatever...I can only pay for what I can pay for! My FH and I have big families, church families and friends. My parents are really well known and EVERYONE expects to get an invite, but GUESS WHAT....a WHOLE bunch of people are going to get their faces broke because I just can't invite everyone to the wedding...it's just not possible! I had to come to the conclusiong that there are going to be some disappointed people, but this is supposed to be my FH and my day, why am I trying to make EVERYONE else happy while I'm starting to stress and be miserable. It's my wedding but I'm sitting there with a headache and the mugg face...NOPE....not' gon' happen!....Try not to worry too much about hurting people's feelings, bottom line is they are just going to have to get over it....it's too much other stuff going on...

I happened to be down in your area (Houston/NW)this past week (why I was MIA) and I really got to thinking about you, hoping and praying that things were starting to look up for you (grillz issues, FMIL dress issues/FH issues...geesh!) One thing is for certain I was glad that it was pouring while I was there because I knew that the rain would have cleard up by saturday and that was a (really)good sign!
I know this is really crunch time...hang in there I have a feeling that things are about to look up!
The dress...How much of a wrong color was it? Will it still work? I'm praying for you that it all comes together.

Taj I agree with your uncle.Me and hubby live thousands of miles away from both families and it is great.We only have to hear about the going on of the other sil and bil if we call or go there on holiday.And believe me we are filled in but when it gets too much we say ok we got to go now.Hubby has 8 other siblings and lots of nieces and nephews,so imagine the palaver

Thanks all! After we went and got our marriage license in Houston, it seems like everything was secondary - like it should be. I just want to marry this man and seeing my name after his on that certificate was like, "Whoa"

and classy that is all it should be about. i know u are gonna have a wonderful event, almost everything is gonna go great, cause they say behind the scenes w/o the brides knowledge something does go wrong but u wont know it:) and u are gonna be in a blissful state the whole time. congrats and i am teary eyed right now as i write this that means i know its gonna be terrific.
